Little Bikini FurorThe young girls dressing up like adults have always had raised eyebrows and thus the verbal volleys galore. From the photoshop-friendly fashion magazines featuring little girls all decked up glitzily with undertones of sexiness, to the designer handbags and stilettoes of Suri Cruise, the kid world is coming-of-age at full pelt.

With every other fashion house or celebrity foraying into the business of kidswear these days, launching their preppy kids lines, Elizabeth Hurley tried to be different taking dyed-in-the-wool stance on ‘Sex lies in the eyes of beholder’ or something like that by launching a line of swimwear for girls and calling it all ‘fun’.

Well, that’s her take but the line of bikinis comprising of animal-print two-piece and a bikini held together by a gold ring apart from other such pieces sparked a flurry of comments accusing the actress for sexualizing the young girls. The concern of mothers, or whosoever calling the range disturbing, or finding it too risqué for their little sweethearts doesn’t hold an answer to this matter – it needs to be debated.

Ashish Gupta SS 13Every nerd scurrying to their math class, all lost in numbers, somewhere wants to be chic and emulate their favourite movie star playing a geek on-screen but strutting gingerly down the red carpet.

But being a Hollywood-fascinated nerd she imbibes glitz with a big placard reading “I am Serious” and she means her every alphabet. Such is the world of geeks interpreted in an offbeat manner by Delhi-born designer Ashish Gupta at London Fashion Week Spring Summer 2013.

A delight for every sapiosexual the collection comes off as a mélange of street wear and Hollywood glamour. Whether be it birth control glasses, sequined scrunchies or white trainers the run-of-the mill is glammed up by ubiquitous sequins. Channeling geek chic look the designer twisted the everyday silhouettes and layered them with sequins to create the magic.

The dichotomized pants – half denim and half sequined, numerical-printed numbers, one-sleeved dresses, wonky white shirts, skirts and jackets concoct this merry show. The details like elongated sleeves, polka dots, and play with collars and hems are the focus of the collection.

Adele-Burberry Plus Size LineThough Burberry might have gone all glamorous this season following stereotypical nuances of celebrity-cum-fashion magazines promoted culture of beauty, as their recent Spring Summer 2013 preview vouched for, but the brand is seemingly open to embrace the alternative definitions as well.

Treading into unchartered territories the British fashion brand is rumored to have roped in another British sensation Adele to create a bespoke line for plus-sized women. The collaboration of two authentic British labels and that too for something really interesting might create wonders as one knows how to set the fire to the rain, and other excels at making spectacular out of ordinary.

Well, Adele who herself wore Burberry at many occasions including her 2012 Grammys appearance, and looked fabulous inspite of shedding a bucket full of tears will come as a perfect brand ambassadress for any such line targeted towards women who love their cakes and pastries.

When it comes to Burberry things are bound to be so aesthetically and digitally refined that “The Factory” and “Silicon Valley” seemed like back-scratching mutually.

The latest Spring Summer 2013 by one of the iconic Brit labels came off as the glamorous rendition of Burberry’s design treasure trove at its custom-built show venue in London’s Hyde Park. With the burst of colors on runway the show celebrated London with the world through brand’s most digitally advanced experience.

Where the viewers across the world got to see the collection in more details, the runway glittered in the metallic shimmer and splash of neon hues. Strutting in thick framed sunglasses and siren red lips, Christopher Bailey’s elegant divas put together one of the sultriest shows of the season on the tunes of emerging British musicians Ren Harvieu, Tom Odell and Birdy.

The vibrant no-fuss collection taking inspiration from British fashion photographer Norman Parkinson’s work from 40s and 50s brought to the fore the iconic Burberry trench coat with a twist, along with capes, cropped jackets, hot pants, A-line skirts and dresses in hues of purple, gold, green, white and fuchsia. The merging hues, clashing prints, puffed sleeves and shoulders with a truck-load of shimmer concocted this glitzy splendid showcasing.

Though those peeping tags can never make it to any kosher style list but when it comes to Gucci its worth playing a peek-a-boo with tags.

Banking upon such humanly desires, the luxury Italian fashion house has unveiled a collection of colorful leather ID tags this season – each with its own golden embossed symbol to grace your handbags. Quite a handy way to personalize an accessory, every tag is designed to carry its owner’s initials.

The light-hearted symbols include Gucci icons and universal emblems for luck, love, and strength like horseshoe, turtle, bee, heart, horse, falcon and four-leaf clover besides bamboo bag and hear shaped interlocking G.

Seemingly ideal for gifting these tags will be available at Gucci’s boutiques and its website from late October.
