Vintage Goth, a brand playing with alternate fashion and corsetry, is all set to give a glimpse of Gothic Era with its range of designs inspired from the era.

A newly launched brand by SumanBharti offers an exciting range of corsets, dresses, bustiers, skirts, tops and waistcoats. Using jute, cotton, metallic embellishments with brocade and leather the brand tries to keep the spirit of Renaissance alive.

In sync, with the spirit of alternative fashion and the early Gothic period which saw elegant designs with minimal trimmings, the range is subtle, yet experimental. The colour combinations of chocolate browns, whites and beige have been hand-picked and come to life in the form of flowy silhouettes accentuating femininity.

About the launch of the collection designer SumanBharti said, “After extensive interaction with consumers we realized the lack of alternative fashion options in India. With VintageGoth we aim to bring alternative fashion to the doorsteps of our consumers. Influenced by the Gothic era and alternative fashion, the designs move away from colourful brashness and extravagance of today.  The focus is on flawless fits coupled with quirky and alternative designs; especially conceptualized for the woman of today.”

Though not exactly horsing around with dollops of glamour but definitely the designer is all set to glorify one of his pieces, better known as Little Black Jacket. After LBD, its LBJ as Karl has roped in the A-listers to come up with a black-and-white photo-book ‘The Little Black Jacket: Chanel’s Classic Revisited’, in collaboration with former French Vogue Editor CarineRoitfeld.

It’s like going back to colonial days when The Great Britain was the cynosure of the world. Though they say the history kind of repeats itself but nothing seems likely in case of debt-ridden lager-drinking air-kissing Brits anytime soon. Better they being the wallflower celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations, and yes! be all ears to what Victoria Beckham has to say.

Victoria Romanticizes Britain

The spunky British designer recently showed up in a video talking about everything British, right from music to fashion to Anna Wintour. Fashion Flash Mob PRIs Flash Mob the next big thing in fashion? May be! As when quirkiness of fashion mingles with the shock of flash mob, it’s almost impossible to evade the result.

Whether it’s Stella McCartney throwing a black tie bash to celebrate her involvement in London Olympics 2012, or the brands organizing one to catch the attention of  all and sundry, the idea of flash mob is efficaciously show stealer. The latest to join the bandwagon is Diane Von Furstenberg who showed up at a sample sale event where a bunch of girls startled the shoppers by dancing in matching leggings on the balcony over the fitting room of the venue.

Even last year, Diane resorted to flash mob marketing thing by making a group of women march on the streets of New York City wearing DVF wrap dresses to promote the label’s new fragrance.

Lydia Maurer at Paco RabanneAs there comes the Spring Summer 2013 showcasing in Paris, on ramp will be Lydia Maurer representing PacoRabanne, as the 29-year-old designer is the new Artistic Director of women RTW at the house.

A month after the label parted ways with Manish Arora, there pops up the name of Lydia who had joined PacoRabanne in November 2011, and has had previously worked with Givenchy and YSL.

And as far as Manish’s exit is concerned, then the reasons making the rounds hush that he was only brought for a short term to revive the brand and the brand always wanted to promote someone from within the company who had worked closely with Manish.

The Delhi based jewellery label Rika by Rekha Arora unveils its Spring Summer 2012 collection oozing timelessness and elegance.

The collection is comprised of chunky solid neck pieces embellished with semiprecious stones such as pearls, coral, black agate, jade and amethyst. Strongly influenced by Thai and Burmese artisans, each piece is a rhapsody in strings; silver-and-turquoise necklace and south sea pearl necklace are the most ornate pieces of the collection.

The regal yet wearable range is full of sparkle, color and spontaneity of a summer love as brought to life by Swarovski stones wrapped around the corals and then strung together.
