The upcoming Spring Summer 2012 edition of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week will see hail the beauty of flora, as assured by designer Rajdeep Ranawat’s collection preview for the event.

The collection is based on 7 species of exotic flowers from nature: Columbine, Saggitaire, Solomon’s, Daffodils, Poppies, Chestnuts and Nasturtiums. Fabrics as silk georgettes, chiffons and crepe with tulle and satins have been crafted in an array of resort kaftans and tunics, short & long dresses, gowns, outfits and sarees for the woman with an aura of glamour and sophistication.

The collection assures a blend of specially carved Block prints from Sanganer by the artisans and further complimented with modern digital prints with placements of the same motifs, further enhanced by brushed metal studs and rivets and Swarovski elements to give the SS12 collection a glamorous, luxurious and an edgy feel.



The color palette is comprised of Colors of Canary, Aqua, Ultramarine, Satsuma, Ruby, Ivory and lime with signature ombrey effects in mystic purples, majestic emeralds, burgundy and raven black.


 

Mineral a view of all seasons

‘Mineral’, designer Priyadarshini Rao’s new flagship store has been launched at Bandra, Mumbai. The store is a presentation of prior high street Europe in India. 

The label aims to present a fusion of art and trend in the environment. 

Priyadarshini’s exclusive lineup blended in  moderate and soft tones largely focuses on vintage and romance garments exhibiting an erstwhile appeal. A diverse range of natural fabrics are used for creating the garments. Sultry floral prints with discreet embroideries used in the pieces produce an alluring and unique look.
 
Starting from top wear silhouettes range from clean A- lines to the casual boho, bottom wear in neutral shades of color as well as a lineup of classy and chic includes in her label. Wallpaper prints and striking ditsy are executed to bring a rich look.

Mineral too deals in Key Pieces, where a lineup of the finest clothing is available for those who desire. There is another section of the brand for girls aging up to 12 years called ‘Mineral Girl’ which deals in long dresses in its unique style apart from the fairy tale ones.

One of the most celebrated internationally acclaimed Indian Designer Manish Arora presents his Spring Summer 2012 collection all in his signature playfulness highlighting a fascinating expedition that introduces an amalgamation of futuristic with the reminiscent. 

For this season Manish takes inspiration from the joie de vivre of the 60’s decade with the silhouettes flowing into easy and relaxed shapes with a pleasant mix of blousons, tents and semi fits where the boundaries are blurred to reveal a futuristic note.  The mini and flare skirts, well-tailored jackets, innovative tent dresses, raised neck tops, pleated overlap trousers and acidic denims echo the joy of the ingenuous era.

Embroideries such as Iridescent patchwork , 3-D black/white swirls, florescent 3-D wire work juxtaposed seamlessly to a reminiscent tone with embroideries such as the traditional cross-stitch , hippie fringes , frayed edges and swish feathers, highlights the perfect irony of two worlds.



The prints form an essential backdrop to the collection such as the Happy People Print by iconic photographer Robert Altman that rejoices the unity in the different colors of the world. Moreover, special attention has been made to the details in quality of fit, finishing and hand embroideries to deliver a collection that is luxurious and extremely modern.
