High voltage glamour and excitement fired up at the Mahalaxmi Race Course with the Hello Million Cup.
Ruchika Mehta played hostess with Mr Vivek Jain, Chairman RWITC was present and seen overseeing all arrangements and mingling over a relaxed afternoon. The winner of the Hello Million was Horse: Black Magic Woman, Owner: Darius Rafat, Trainer: CD Katrak, and Jockey David Allan

Tagged Green at NIFT
The second day began with a group dance and choreography competition where Gargi College and Kamla Nehru College bagged the first prizes. With events like ‘Act and React’ and ‘Ad Mad’, NIFT made sure everyone had a good time. The evening was an exciting mixture of culture and music as Indian Ocean and Rabbi Shergill performed in front of a huge crowd.

Pam & Arch London
Pam & Arch London, a collection designed by two sisters Pamela & Archana in London has been selected as Emerging Designers and will be participating at the Lakme Fashion Week.
A UK Fashion House based in London, the label started with humble beginnings two sisters Pamela and Archana launched the collection in November 2006. Prints are their strength, so capitalizing on their textile design business background they successfully targeted the upper middle market in Europe. Fabrics are mainly viscose, cotton and wool mix. They first gained recognition in the Italian market through their launch in the Summer of 2008 at the Pitti Imagine (Neozone) show.
Some the stores that stock their ensembles are Helsen in Belgium, Peter Elliot Women in New York, Tessabit in Como Italy, Gemelli in Milan Italy, Spinnaker in Alassio Italy, AJC in Paris and Cyberia Store in Melbourne.
IIFT at Mauritius
Mauritius recently witnessed a 3 days grand International Fashion Extravaganza, involving Designers from India, Pakistan, Mauritius and South Africa and Supermodels from India and the host country. This event coincides with the opening of another international centre of IIFT at Mauritius.
The inaugural ceremony and the next three days were attended by a huge crowd of elite from Mauritius, including the Prime Minister and his wife, The Honourable Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam and Education Minister Mr. Rajesh Jeeta and a host of other Ministers and Govt. dignitaries. Indian and Mauritian models showcased the designer collections of the local designers and the students of IIFT Corporate Centre from New Delhi. The evening was spiced up by a classical dance recital by South Indian film actress and danseuse Swanramalya Ganesh and local contemporary pop dances by Jerry Nayna and Group.
The second day saw the showcasing of Mauritian designers like Saman Arif Nayna, Nalini Aubeeluck, Dharna Hassija and Sanjeet Boolell who designed costumes inspired by the marine life of the island, Pakistani designers Mehdi, Shaiyanne Malik and Adnan Khan stuck to their classy embroideries and Mughal styles, JJ and Haroon Hansrot from South Africa presented their haute couture collections inspired by Hollywood, while Indian designers like James Ferreira showcased the Red carpet collections.
The final day belonged to none other than the Bollywood star designer Manish Malhotra. With a team of 45 Indian and Mauritian Supermodels he presented his varied range of haute couture inspired by Indian traditional culture, Royals and Princely states and of course Bollywood. The audience went wild and gave him a standing ovation.
Ratnadeep Lal, The Chairman of IIFT Corporate, said “I would like to congratulate the entire team of IIFT, Mauritius, especially Anup Johri, Bijaye Madhou and Mona Ramrachheyya for starting IIFT and also creating history by organizing the International Fashion Extravaganza, for the first time at such a grand scale. After the grand success of the Fashion event during the Delhi Commonwealth Games with Bradford College, UK, this is our second Fashion extravaganza in a row.”
