Kimaya adds another pearl to its already gleaming necklace and also becomes the first ever High-end Fashion & Luxury retailer adding Wines to its portfolio. On the 26th of February, 2011; the world will witness Kimaya spread out its fashion wings and reach out to yet another segment of luxury and lifestyle – Wines.

This Saturday, Kimaya Wines will be launching two of its variants – Chardonnay 2010 & Shiraz. While the other two variants of Sparkling and Moscato will be on display. The event holds a surprise for the attendees as a prominent celebrity from the Delhi fashion circuit will unveil the Kimaya Wines bottle, while wine tasting and appreciation will be conducted by Magandeep Singh, the country’s most celebrated wine sommelier. The imported wine is crafted, nurtured and bottled at the McLaren Vintners by the legendary Australian wine stalwart Ben Riggs and the Galvanised Wine Group. It is being distributed in India by Global Wines & Spirits, spearheaded by Mr. Jatin Virmani, a vibrant entrepreneur with diverse experience in the space of luxury, retail and beverages.

Pradeep Hirani, CMD, Kimaya Fashions Pvt Ltd says “Kimaya has been spreading its magic throughout the luxury and fashion industry since the founding of its flagship company in 2002. In lieu with its ethos of catering to the needs of the luxury and lifestyle driven slice of the society, it was natural progression for Kimaya to extend its reach to Wines. The rich heritage and inimitable blends from Australian vineyards made it an obvious choice for the launch of Kimaya Wines’ first variants”

Lean, Clean, and Fresh is The Kimaya Chardonnay 2010, appealing citrus aromas with nuances of candied fruits, almond paste, lime leaf, and a floral touch to finish. And a Gripping expressive palate with fruity sweetness, green-fruit-peel notes, and subtle acidity it has a fresh, youthful, summer wine.

Fruity, Spicy, Light-to-Medium bodied is The Kimaya Shiraz, nice deep robe with fresh spices on the nose with plenty of fruit, berry jam, and currants. Appealing light palate with notes of cherries, cranberries, quince, black pepper its chewable young tannins provide sense of balance along with controlled alcohol and refreshing acidity. The finish is marked by mulberries and strawberries.

Enlightening us on Kimaya’s other future ventures, Pradeep Hirani revealed, “To tap India’s booming market and the well-travelled Indian fashion connoisseur, Kimaya is soon to take the couture culture to new hotspots like Ludhiana, Surat, Chandigarh; not forgetting to mention a host of international destinations that are lined up.”

Spring is all about pared back, contemporary style. It’s clean, feminine and effortlessly elegant, capturing the best of chic Parisian fashion and 70’s Riviera chic with the right mix of preppy British influences.

The season starts in a classic colour palette of navy, white and cream highlighted with light blues and pinks. White is the earliest trend to be seen with Broderie Anglaise and lace being key in simple yet stunning shift dresses. Printed jumpsuits and pleated dresses are worn with patent leather bags. Pleats are an important detail for Spring seen on long sleeve romantic dresses, little skirts updated with confetti floral prints and chiffon summer dresses.

Preppy tones evolve into muted greys, beige, nudes and dusky pinks seen on more relaxed silhouettes. Dresses are floaty and feminine with silk shifts updated with tribal inspired embellishment. Fabrics are soft and draped with twist back vests, heavily washed chinos and loose cheesecloth shirting.

As Spring evolves into summer a retro 70’s glamour is evoked channeling Bianca Jagger in St Tropez. White tailored shorts are matched perfectly loose floral tops, white dresses feature delicate layered frills of Broderie Anglais and vintage esq. embroidery on care free smocks. Traditional nautical stripes feature on cotton shorts with rope belts, shell printed playsuits and clean Breton stripe tops. Bold colour blocking delivers one of the key looks from the catwalk and add an impactful clash of colour to the paired back palette, on western style shirts and breezy tie waist smocks.

Holiday wear continues the 70’s beach vibe with a wide range of swimwear where bright florals and stripes dominate. Strapless cut out swimsuits, printed and polka dotted halter neck bikinis stand out. Bold purple butterfly prints and a Japanese floral garden print add retro glamour to off the shoulder beach dresses and swimwear.

Looking through the mist of clouded memories with a yearning fondness towards the ageless appeal of the by-gone; Designer Shah Rukh Zaidi staying true to the fine art of hand crafted leather goods, the SRZ collection for Spring Summer 2011 of exceptional products represents the right form of "Vintage Luxury".

One can pick up from a variety of travel bags, cross body sling, totes, doctor bags, luxurious luggage and laptop satchels in classical silhouettes and a color palette of luscious vintage tones. His eye for impeccable finishing and high quality makes these bags a collector’s item.

His latest Spring Summer 2011 entails the following collections, Rebirth of An Era that is like a traveler stuck in a time warp, parading through different moments at the same time, taking you to an eternal journey. Black on The Edge is giving a Scottish touch to traditional Old school travel gear. A hint of brightness for an eternal freshness, breaking the monotony and giving a new look to week day travel. Tribute to Heroes is a collection revived out of washed olive canvas and beaten up oily lug leather adding a twist to the mainstream adventure gear. Extraordinary and stunning, Aimee Mullins is a woman who demands admiration. Gifted athlete, fascinating model, talented actress, Aimee is characterized by her unique achievements, her charisma and radiant beauty. Today, she joins the family of L’Oréal Paris Ambassadors.

While some would imagine a life of “disability” (Aimee was born with a limb anomaly and lost both of her legs when she was one year old), she credits her unique body for her ability to develop a sense of personal beauty and glamour. Her strength and determination were supported by an active imagination, one in which she claimed autonomy over her own identity, and indeed changed how the world would come to view her as an entirely capable woman.

“The L’Oréal Paris icons are among the most beautiful women in the world. I am very honoured to be joining this family. The “Because I’m worth it” tagline means a lot to me. Beauty is not skin-deep; it can be a means of self-affirmation, a true indicator of personality and confidence", says Aimee Mullins.

“Aimee embodies perfectly the L’Oreal woman. Sublime, charismatic and strong her life is extraordinary in all meanings possible", says Cyril Chapuy, Global Brand President of L’Oréal Paris.
