When it comes to winters, the colors in our wardrobes go subdued and snug in the grays, chocolates, blacks and navy shades, but what pops out, are the dazzling, exquisite & ornate jewels that are a woman’s best-friend. And with the Fall Winter trend of Statement jewels, it is sure to keep you warm and excited.

The jewelry this season goes from big, bigger to huge… the chunkier – the better.  From oversized earrings, to huge bold necklaces, to chunky large rings, to most elaborate anklets, and stacked or layered bangles, all of these pieces can help you create ‘The Statement’ that suits your style and accentuates your personality with much élan and exotic charm. This isn’t the season to pick up something that’s understated. Instead, finding pieces of jewelry that is even louder than your clothing will be the way to go.

Large Geometric – almost Futuristic jewels: As goes the fashion trend for garments, futuristic, architectural & geometric remain the trend in jewelry as well. This rare trend of eye grabbers and avant-garde pieces can really set you apart. Go for molded unique acrylic chunks, large gems cut angularly, and unusual plastic forms like bubbles, graphic motifs, animals etc.

Feathered/ fringed pieces – Fringes have been in vogue – on bags, waistcoats, jumpers and boots, but this season feathers and fringes make for one of the biggest jewelry trends. Elaborate pieces mixed with layers of chains n beads, at times even ombrey-ed, make for a sexy bohemian statement.

Biker/rock inspired junkies – Metal is the key to this huge trend that has been going on and will be with us for a while it seems. So invest in some shiny plated chunky pieces or go for burnished and textured surface for antique feel. Big studs, overwhelming chain layering, screws, coins, giant plates, all are good ideas and can also be fused with pretty beads and striking crystals.

Indian vintage heavy jewels – Lots of traditional looking gold, kundan, polki, precious stones & gems, might sound routine but they look incredibly exotic and feminine when worn in the right amount and with the right attitude. Combine heavy gigantic pieces with neutral garments like an LBD, or a white/nude blouse, and you could look like a fashion goddess without refrain. Vintage brooches, gemmed anklets, chandelier earrings and large stone rings are just the pieces with which you can begin exploring this trend.

Bib/Collar style neck pieces – These one-piece jewelry forms can be just added on to any garment and can transform the whole look of the ensemble. Detailed collar jewels and gemmed bib pieces are all the rage this season. With festivities soaring high, invest in these bold gemmed jewels and have a dazzling winter!

It seems that, one thing that has caught the fascination of designers Indian and International for the Spring Summer 2011 is nothing but ropes and cords. As we all sat eagerly waiting for the granny expertise crochet to make its grand come back having shown its glimpses on the runway before the designers hit the right cords with macramé and ropy interplay.

The ochre macramé dress from Ferragamo styled with a thin leather belt laden with the heavy fall of the fabric after being interlaced and reminds of the countryside flower girl. The ensembles by Geisha Designs and Roberto Cavalli gain understated luxe and sexy demeanor with a bold and strong attitude.

Alpana and Neeraj with a very futuristic and avante garde outlook have actually achieved the perfection to have tied down the dress on human body. And the even corded realties the flash of skin from beneath ties spells ultra sexy glances. McQueen jackets the luxurious curves of the body in midriff revealing and trailing crochet jacket. Ankur Modi and Priyanka Modi for AM:PM also style a jacket over a shift dress with its hemlines running longer than the dress and rosy 3-dimensional forms strung around the neck.

Emilio Pucci announces the season’s corded style with figure caressing long black dress designed exclusively for the red carpet. Anand Bhushan looks towards the future fading the line pf difference between menswear and womenswear as his deep v neck collared knee length dress exemplifies paper strung chain effect in the lower half. Gucci goes absolutely Boho and his cording is coupled with feathers and flaming colour story.

A flock of five artists from one single family of Udaipur, Rajasthan spreading over three generations exposed their individual creative for Delhi Art Lovers called 3Generations from Dec 22nd till Dec 28th, 2010 at Lalit Kala Akademi. Smt Shiela Dikshit, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Govt of NCT of Delhi graced the occasion of unveiling with her presence.

Shail Choyal (64) son of PN Choyal was highly acclaimed in  70’s & 80’s of the last century for using the miniaturist motifs in his paintings that earned him the Central  Lalit Kala Akademi Award as well as President of India, Neelam Sanjeeva  Reddy Award along with a chain of 21 distinct awards in the country. But Shail never stayed at one point and had several creative sweeps. Later, he combined strong musical quality with an evocative visual imagery and used fantasy as a metaphor in his art.

Surjeet Kaur (61), partner of Shail has been recently acclaimed by several art galleries of India for her deep concern towards antiquity in which she used photos of princess and their flamboyant riches passing a veritable comment upon their perjury. In the present showing Surjeet exhibits a psycho- thematic concern with a strong personal symbolism. Akash Choyal (36), son of Shail and Surjeet pursues a peculiar logic to alter his motifs in an anti-natural sense and exquisitely combines his objects in an unexpected manner. Here in this show he employs computer generated techniques to create his 3d imagery along with his automatism that gives birth to unprecedented stories and surreal illustrations. In major, Akash explores fiberglass relief structures and ornate his surfaces with intuitional, imaginative and mystique drawings using a wiry miniature brush.

The strength of wood rises from the roots to the treetops. Like a tree, the Kenzo man draws his strength from the energy of the earth. His gaze clears a path towards the sky. Without barriers, without limits this is the new fragrance Kenzohomme woody eau de toilette.

A classic in essence, a woody aromatic, far from fashion fads, the genuine seduction of a definite trail created by Olivier Polge. A facetted composition enhanced by a lively burst of fresh mint and basil leaves.

The scent is infused with a spirited vibration of Madagascar black pepper and Tunisian rosemary, structuring the note. Punctuated by two overdosed woody essences, atlas cedar and Haitian vetiver, the quintessence of masculinity. Box & bottle In the same colour as the bottle, the new bamboo is graphically featured on the box. Seen from a low angle, its stem soars up between heaven and earth. The bamboo bottle comes in the matte brown of bark and is engraved with vibrant leaves.
