Fashion’s newest force of young designers showcased their senior collections at the annual, School of Fashion, Academy of Art University show in San Francisco. The garments and sculptural jewelry are one-of-a-kind. Here’s my wish list from the show –
A simple, feminine dress paired with a lattice necklace of creepy, clawed creatures from land and sea. Kaori’s necklace reminded me of lazy days watching hermit crabs on the beaches of Lakshadweep.
Goat hair jacket + latex dress with lacey prints + knit dress with little sparkling crystals = must haves for evenings out.
Rinat is off to Paris to further her studies in fashion design at L’Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne*
Stephanie will be in NY this summer for an internship with Diane von Fürstenberg.

Ivy is also off to NY for an internship with Diane von Fürstenberg.

Ghazaleh will be joining her colleagues in NY at Diane von Fürstenberg for an internship this summer. In 2008 she won the $25,000 CFDA Grand Prize Geoffrey Beene Design Scholarship. In 2009 Ghazaleh was awarded the French Scholarship Exchange and studied for a year at L’Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne*; while in Paris, her savvy style was captured on several occasions by photographer Scott Schuman (TheSartorialist.com).
* L’Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne also happens to be the alma mater of one of my favorite fashion designers (and one of Pollyana’s favorites too), who lives and works between India, Milan and Paris – Sanchita Ajjampur.
