Sherin Sam, the 5′ 9” Malayali beauty raised in Kuwait is a fresh face in the industry. Fun loving by nature who loves to make other people smile brings more grace to her personality. She spends a lot of time with the little tots who are brought up in orphanages. Let’s have an inside glance to know more about the model.

Tell us something about your formative life and academics?
I was born in Bangalore but a few years later I moved with my family to Kuwait. My family still stays there. After the completion of my 12th I came back to Bangalore to pursue my degree in Bachelor of Business Management from Al-Ameen College. I completed my degree last year (2010).

How did you bumped into modeling?
I started with Femina Miss India South and after that opted for the Ford Super Model where I bagged the title out of the 14 finalists all over the world. And gradually I started becoming a known face in this industry. Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week is the biggest fashion week I have participated in till date.

So you always wanted to be a model? If you had not been a model what else would have yearned for?
I always aspired to become a pilot. But somehow I ended up with modeling. My friends in Bangalore compelled me to try modeling because I had a good height and I thought let me give it a shot, though I am really happy about it now.

What’s your style statement?
I don’t have any style statement. I go for anything that suits me. One just needs to carry it with a right attitude.

What’s your take on drug abuse and suicides which are so prevalent in this entertainment industry?
I have no comments about it.

So what do you like to do when not modeling?
I love dancing, I do salsa and classical. I even like reading. Traveling and photography are two more things I would like to add on. I visit such places which are much not discovered or known by people.

What was your parent’s point of view on you choosing modeling as a career?
I do belong from a family who are firm followers of Christianity. My parents were against this career option in the beginning but once I made through Fords they were pretty convinced. And as long as I am good with it, they are happy with my decision.  I never do anything which would make them ashamed of.

When and what was your first modeling assignment?
I started with a commercial in South for Malabar gold which was shot around four months back.

What do you think of Bollywood as a career option?
I have already received few offers for South Indian movies and coming to bollywood I haven’t tried yet. I want to focus on my work for now but yes I would like to be a part of bollywood someday.

What is your ideal date?
(Giggles) I have never thought about it so far.
