Let us introduce you to Ankit Gupta a budding and ambitious 21 year old model.

Family and Academics…
Well I was born and brought up in Noida and I live here with my family even now. Apart from my mom and dad I have an elder brother in the family. My dad’s a businessman and my bro works for an MNC. As of now I’m working as a Team Leader in a BPO.

Parent’s reaction to your choice of modeling as a career…
My parents didn’t quiet agree to my following modeling as a career in the beginning. However as I’m supporting myself with a lucrative job as well, they agreed to let me follow this field.

First modeling assignment…
Actually my first step in this field was initiated with my winning the IBIBO Eye Hunk Contest in July in 2009. After which I got signed up with elite.

Greatest achievement till date…
Professionally there is still a lot left to achieve but I’ll say that winning the IBIBO contest which had 80,000 people competing for it was quite an achievement. Personally, I’ll say that at an age of just 21, I am a team leader in my field and am able to support myself quiet handsomely along with a budding career in modeling as well is an achievement.

Idea of an ideal date
Well I’m not the kind of romantic to dwell on ideal dates and technically I hardly have time for dates after my job and my modeling.

When not modeling what are you most likely to be found doing…
When I’m not working, I like to catch up on my sleep which at times is really elusive with all the work. I can sleep for hours on end. I think my personal best is a continuous stretch of 38 hrs of sleep at one go!!

Apart from the sleeping, I love to surf and hang out with friends in my free time.

Essentials for a model to climb the ladder of success…

  • Networking
  • Good height
  • Nice physic
  • Confidence

Views on Indian vs. Western models…
As far as the physical make up goes, Indian and western models are completely different. Typically Indian designers need bulkier models to showcase their designs. However western models are more apt with their skinny physic to showcase the designs of the western fraternity.
