1While we see all magazine and web flooded with fall women’s fashion, men’s have very little space for them. It’s a feel good factor that somewhere women’s are given priority. It also reminds me of an instance when one of the menswear designer suggested us that we should have a section dedicated to men’s only to later realize that he has started designing womenswear.2

Coming on to fall men’s 2015, there is been some very key trends. Starting from looks this fall men’s are seen in beards even with glitters. Coming on to apparels fur had a very strong presence on the runways with 1970’s style ruled all over from flares to flyaway collars. There were double breasted pullovers, spec pants, turtleneck sweaters, unbalance long tee.

Coats fell just off the shoulder to give a slouchy, oversized vibe. Layering as always is the technique to keep you warm with trench over stitched liner over flannel. The most popular colors were grey, green, turquoise, and military, blue making rounds on the runways.

1The key trends in Lingerie this fall diverge from 90s tomboy, graphic lace to peekaboo. Only after checking out this seasons Victoria’s show and several other leading designers collection, we come across some earthy colours mixed with sheer panels on offer.

While 90s trend ruled the forecast, as the waistband has become the talking point with embellishment and logos. Forget tight and uncomfortable pants, the consumer demand for loungewear is pushing retailers to create a new wave of underwear with a visible sports-inspired elastic band, remixed with an urban 90s twist, says WGSN.4

Then there are also styles which are about alluding sensuality created with peek-a-boo openings.

With New Year and other festivities round the corner people are investing in Lace paired with jersey materials which is sporty, and insanely stylish. Sultry reds, seductive silks, pistachio to black lingerie sets are seen flooding the stores with insanely lacy styles for the brides.2

1The fall has arrived and we see people abandoning their skinny jeans, only to replace with flared legs, yes they are back in vogue and will stay as fashion zeitgeist suggest, for A/W 16/17 the cropped-flare fit will evolve into a smartened and slimmer bootcut shape.

Bells help elongate your skinny stems, especially with higher waists and platforms, only to give extra lean look. Even WGSN reveals that the 1970s rocker chic item is back, from high-waist to light-washed denim, they have become a shop floor favorite.

Bellbottoms were huge with the flower power set, peg-leg pants were big in the ’80s, and in the ’90s everyone was wearing bootcut jeans. During recent catwalk shows flares have been given a revamp, with wide-legged and high-waisted options. Go for a modern look with a nod to the ’70s by tucking in a silk blouse and slipping into a pair of chunky heels.

For a bride to be, it is very important for her to look more beautiful than ever on her wedding day. The most anxious moment for her is when she has to choose her wedding trousseau.  It is very important for her to wear something that not only flatters her body but also enhances her beauty.

Color: Colors play a great role when it comes to choosing a bridal dress. off late there is been a new trend of  Classic peach, orange, red wedding lehenga in zardozi and crystals which is seen as color for this season. The color is beautiful and looks very sophisticated. While Marsala, the elegant burgundy hue is what our fashion pundits have predicted, and is best suitable for Indian complexion. Hot pink, blue and emerald green too was spotted on many runway shows and is a lovely color to put on.

Makeup: Brides glow naturally on the big day of their life but little makeup is no harm. Dewy skin and matte bronze eyeshadow are great to go with any color of bridal wear. Smoky eye have been in trend from long time and is here to stay. Smoky eyes and nude lips is a glamorous combination. Defined eyebrows and winged eyeliners are sexy and very much in trend. Corals colors blends well with Indian tone and looks very pretty on lips.

It is very necessary to keep in mind the do and don’ts to look amazing on the wedding day.

Don’t: Don’t go overboard with eye makeup as you already wear very shimmering outfit and looks odd.

Don’t use colored contacts. Avoid all shades of blue, green, grey, etc.  Don’t go too red, whether it is outfit or makeup.

Avoid jewelleries and lehengas that are too heavy to carry.

Do: Pick complementary colors.Red can go astonishingly well with colors as loud as fuchsia or cobalt.

Do add antiques to your jewellery as they will add a touch of royalty to your look.

The marsala bridal wear by Manish Malhotra is rich in embroidery and looks absolutely royal.  To go with the outfit, keep the makeup minimal. A dewy skin, nude lips and bronzy eyes will look just perfect.

Head of Catwalks, WGSN

From SS’16 Catwalk, Lizzy Bowring suggests key trends starting from colors to designers that will define the season. Her personal favorite being Stella McCartney, Dior and acne, with denim, black and white, grays & metallic to rule, we bring you a low down of her five essential trends as she and her team analyses where trends are in the curve, pre-season collections, the ‘tastemakers’ and retail data – mixed with expert intuition-

Colour Predictions

Back in August, we predicted the top colours that would dominate this season’s runway. Here’s a glimpse at how this played out on the catwalks of New York, London, Milan and Paris.

Modern Masters

Our last prediction for S/S 16 saw designers focusing on the art of luxurious craftsmanship and a ruthless attention to detail. Specifically, we predicted designers making acute references to past history –the artists of ancient Rome, the Flemish masters and the 19th century. These references were – as we predicted – pulled into reality with a modern twist and in styles that float around the body.

Leisure Luxe

WGSN predicted the evolution of the athleisure trend in an oversized luxe sport trend we called “Leisure Luxe.” On the runways, we saw “Leisure Luxe” in the combination of sporty elements with casual, oversized, relaxed and loose fits. We further saw this in sporty silhouettes in luxurious materials and an emphasis on texture.

Latin Glamour

Inspired by the opening of Cuba and the Caribbean landscape, WGSN predicted vibrant colours in an overtly feminine trend we call “Latin Glamour.” We saw this playing out specifically in bare shoulders, saturated colour palettes, hothouse florals, an electrifying mix of patterns and cascading ruffles.

Graceful Edge

The vintage heirlooms of Granny’s attic inspired our second trend – a return to feminine, graceful and romantic looks of the past. On the runways we saw “Graceful Edge” in the explosion of layered lace, precise pleats, sheer materials, and soft florals. We also predicted – and saw – this trend in washed denim with loose fits and nostalgic styling.

Culture Club

We predicted an evolution of the 80s in a youthful trend inspired by street culture and the electro-rock music scene. This played out on the catwalks with high-octane colours and body conscious, polished glamour with the look and feel of the digital age.

1Winters aren’t just about being all stuffed with fluffy jackets, denims or even woollens for that matter. One can always experiment with their respective looks, be it with their over-all styling or dress codes for particular occasions. One such idealistic garment, favourite to both men and women when it comes to comfort, are sweatshirts!

One can pair a sweatshirt with a free flowing full length skirt, a formal trouser, a skirt and stocking set and the causal denim jeans of course. No matter how in-formal a sweat shirt appears to be, it will always look appealing to the onlooker, specifically because of its over-sized fit, the comfy feel and the very interesting prints that sweatshirts are usually replete of.2

A black sweatshirt with a funky typo, or an ethnic and zassy print can be a one-stop choice for a non-formal hang out with friends. For all the working freaks, who are bored of their formal wardrobes for their workplace, pick up a basic coloured sweatshirt-preferably without a hood and a zipper-a round neck one with an applique on surface design is all what is needed.

Sweatshirts can, surprisingly, look perfect for evening parties too, not for the extremely formal and grandeur ones obviously. On a chilly and lazy winter night, grab your favourite black leather sweatshirt, or the ones with a shimmery embellishments and blingy add-ons, and you are all set with your favourite tom-boyish yet unique look for your crazy clubbing night.

3Leading fashion houses today, from Kenzo to H&M, come up with stylish innovative sweatshirts every fall, exclusively for those who love being within their comfort zone yet hate being left behind in grabbing the ‘outfit of the day’ attention and  their most liked instagram selfies. So try getting a little off-edge beyond conventions and get all sweatshirt-y this winter!
