Opening day of Cannes Film Festival 2017 had glamour and style doze by Monica Bellucci, Bella Hadid, Eva Herzigova, Michelle Yeoh alongside many others making statement in Dior.

Though, L’Oréal Paris ambassadors, Deepika Padukone stunned everyone in a jewel toned maroon creation by Marchesa and bottle green Brandon Maxwell gown with a thigh high slit.

Julianne Moore brought her A-game in a high neck, ornately embossed Givenchy couture gown. The subtle yet oh so luxe looking feathers cascading down the skirt of Julianne’s gown added oomph to her overall look. Susan Sarandon stole the show with free-flowing waves and a striking green dress by Alberta Ferretti that featured a plunging neckline and a dramatic thigh-high slit paired with classic black pumps and Chopard earrings.

However, Elle Fanning exuded mystical charm in a strapless Vivienne Westwood gown featuring a hand-painted unicorn on the train.

A multi-gifted artist, singer, composer and Sufi poet, Satinder Sartaaj, makes his acting debut as the Last King of Punjab – Maharajah Duleep Singh – in the highly anticipated upcoming Hollywood film – THE BLACK PRINCE, releasing worldwide in July 2017.

THE BLACK PRINCE, is a period drama written and directed by Hollywood filmmaker KaviRaz and filmed widely across the UK and India. It carefully captures the tragic, yet fascinating true story and legacy of Maharajah Duleep Singh, providing a visual narrative of one of India’s most noble kings, and his fragile relationship with, Queen Victoria, who was Godmother to his children.

The film is touted to be the most historical and factually accurate portrayal, covering the phenomenal legacy led and left behind by Maharajah Duleep Singh, right from his early upbringing in the United Kingdom under Queen Victoria, to his ultimate revolt against the British for the freedom of his kingdom.

The movie, is also poised to create a wave of intrigue in India and the UK as the story touches upon the historically significant and priceless Kohinoor diamond, which was purportedly gifted by a young 13-year- old Maharajah Duleep Singh to Queen Victoria in a ceremony held in 1850, at Buckingham Palace, London.

Kiran Nadar Museum of Art presents Hangar for the Passerby; an exhibition about artist collectives – collaborative and participatory art practices – in India. Curated by Akansha Rastogi, the exhibition showcases the wide ranging creative output of more than 45 artist groups, collectives, cooperatives, contexts and individuals, covering a vast geographical and historical span between artists and art institutions from the 1930’s to 2017.

Hangar for the Passerby marks moments of transference of ideas across generations and artistic practices through the juxtaposition of different models of collaboration as proposed by different artists. In examining and mapping emotional investments, challenges, failures and schematics of negotiations in artistic collaborations, the exhibition becomes a playground to discuss the ideas of and around ‘work’, and what is ‘artistic work’. Hangar for the Passerby revisits certain historical moments, speculating and re-enacting spatial dynamics of collectivity; it presents instances of formal and informal pedagogical exercises, workshops and participatory acts facilitated by many artists in institutional spaces.

A large proportion of the works presented in the exhibition are on public display for the first time, having been loaned from the archives of public institutions and personal estates of artists; this includes batiks by artists from Cholamandal Artists’ Village in Chennai, toys made for the Baroda Fine Arts Fair by various artists, CAMP Roof, Rajeev Sethi’s unpublished manuscript ‘Three Stones’ on Anandgram and Bhule Bisre Kalakar Samiti.

Swarovski crystals played greatest supporting act in modern fashion design, the brand launched its first diamond collection jewellery, entitled Atelier Swarovski Fine Jewellery Collection at Cannes, with their new brand ambassador, Naomie Harris.

Naomie Harris walrtesked the red carpet for the opening ceremony of Cannes Film Festival, her Gucci sweet-shop-hued tulle gown was finished off with a very special set of jewels, by Swarovski. The delicate crystal and diamond-studded strand necklace and statement droplet ring form part of the new 10th anniversary Atelier Swarovski collection.
