Dior’s New Lady Dior Campaign
Dior has just released its new Lady Dior campaign withOscar-winning actress and ambassador of the house of Dior, Marion Cotillard.
The 41-year-old star was photographed by Craig McDean in the outdoor garden area at the childhood home of the brand’s founder Christian Dior, which is located in Granville, France.
It was at Granville that Christian Dior learned to appreciate and love flowers, and from them developed the sense of form and color that would seduce women the world over when he opened his House. For the new Lady Dior campaign, inspired by this passion, the luxuriant garden in which the couturier had spent his childhood provided the setting for the photographer Craig McDean to capture Marion Cotillard.
As a flower-woman among the flowers, dressed in looks from the cruise 2017 collection in strong hues or delicate embroideries, the actress and Dior muse poses for a series of colorful portraits with the House’s iconic bag on her arm. She carries it in a black or bright red leather version, its strap personalized with Lucky Badges spelling her initials, or in a version in green exotic leather embroidered with floral motifs.
The Tale of Thomas Burberry
This Christmas, Burberry celebrate 160th anniversary, with the story of Thomas Burberry – pioneer, inventor, innovator, and the man behind the iconic trench coat.
The film is a brief glimpse inspired by his full and extraordinary life, which threaded its way through the history of the twentieth century in all its tumultuous highs and lows. Articulated by Asif Kapadia, a director and best actors Domhnall Gleeson, Sienna Miller, Dominic West and Lily James.
Domhnall Gleeson stars as Burberry founder Thomas Burberry. Sienna Miller stars as Thomas’s fictional first love.
Dominic West plays Sir Ernest Shackleton, the pioneering polar explorer who wore Burberry gabardine for three Antarctic expeditions. Lily James stars as pilot Betty Dawson, a fictionalised character inspired by the real life achievements of Betty Kirby- Green, who broke the world record in 1937 for a return flight from England to Cape Town in an aeroplane named ‘The Burberry’.
Real life moments re-enacted in the film include Thomas’s invention of the weatherproof fabric gabardine, dressing the military, and outfitting polar explorers and pilots.
Shot primarily at Shirburn Castle in Oxfordshire, the location served as the backdrop for the faithfully recreated First World War trenches, and Thomas’s workshop inspired by materials in the Burberry Archive. Replica gabardine tents, made at Burberry’s Castleford factory in Yorkshire, were created for the exploration scenes.

The nominees for the 2016 Fashion Awards
Previously known as the British Fashion Awards, this years nominees has emerging designers like Alessandra Rich while we see Gigi and Bella Hadid Kendall Jenner, Lineisy Montero and Adwoa Aboah competing for International model of the year to fashion veterans like Vivienne Westwood.
Moving on to a global scale, this year’s awards at Royal Albert Hall include more international names as well as a new category, best “Urban Luxury Brand,” for which brands like Vetements, Off-White and Adidas are nominated. While a majority of the nominees are still British-based, designers like Gucci’s Alessandro Michele, Coach’s Stuart Vevers and Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci.
