Paris Fashion Week 2016 came to an end with terrific and eye-grabbing collections by Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu.

Louis Vuitton’s spring 2016 collection by Nicolas Ghesquiere was provocative and different.  With the nailhead-embroidered peasant dresses, the crafty sweaters, and the festival-girl crop tops and shorts, the range looked a lot like a digital bohemia. Also showcased were chic utilitarian jumpsuits in washed fabrics and leather coats with the brand’s logo on sleeves. Moncler Gamme Rouge’s spring lineup presented pretty white outfits in fabrics like guipure, organza, tulle which were adorned with technical mesh embroidery with 3-D daisies or lily and rococo appliqués.  There were gray sweatshirt, short fit-and-flare coats and dresses with empire waistlines.

Designer Andrea Karg for Allude showcased a gorgeous spring collection which was filled with soft shades of white, cream and pale green. Gracing the runway were designs like superfine ribbed top, sleeveless cream vest in extra-thick wool yarn, crinkled linen skirts with paper-bag waists and draped, asymmetric tops. Miu Miu’s spring offering by Miuccia Prada brought back Fifties and Seventies glamour and style. There were plenty of sheer items over most looks including sheer colorful wrapped baby nightgowns, over vests with a checkered, short sleeved polo, paired with a long pencil skirt and long sheer shirt dress, with a ruffled button placket peeking from under a sweater.

Ole Yde with his spring 2016 lineup took us to exotic and unknown lands. Vivacious tie-neck dress and other looks in electric blue, brown, cream and orange came with stunning animal prints. Further he showed evening gowns with attached ostrich feathers, series of tulle tops with 16th-century ruff collars, and a crystal-embroidered black overcoat. Moon Young Hee offered a collection that played on her strengths, with beautifully tailored volumes making good use of handsome fabrics. With a binary palette of black and white, she showed oversize blouson gains volumes, dress cut in wide pinstripes paired with jacket worn backwards and white poplin shirt.

1Welcome to Terminal 2C of the Paris-Cambon airport. Boarding will commence at gate n°5. For CHANEL’s SS2016 Ready-to-Wear collection, the much awaited show at Paris Fashion week, Lagerfeld transform the Grand Palais into an airport for Chanel Airlines. Anticipation was high as we see the crew carry branded baggage trolleys, the “Coco Case”, to departure boards and check-in gates with attendants in Chanel Airlines uniforms. They wear a double catogan* and wedge sandals with luminous soles or open booties in silver leather and transparent plastic.

Blue in shades from sky through to midnight, white, red, and carlingue grey, pink and black, as well as floral and multi-colour prints all take turns to adorn the tweed, denim, leather, lace, guipure, tulle, silk and ottoman. The silhouettes are based on strict, straight lines or fuller shapes with an ethereal fluidity.

The iconic CHANEL suit becomes “the absolute suit”. It has no collar, no pockets, no braiding and no buttons, and yet remains instantly recognizable. Double-breasted, jackets and short jackets in cotton tweed with chevrons or graphic patterns fasten with large silver buttons, half-hidden, and are hemmed with a “new braid”, a braid that’s photographed, then printed, and covered with silicon. The skirts are long, flared or with full sunray pleats and are worn with or without trousers.

Karl Lagerfeld humorously plays with the codes of the sky on blouses, trousers and pleated skirts printed with departure boards, arrow signage, tri-colour motifs, “fly-away skirts” says the designer amusingly. Lifted by large skirts and wide trousers, vests and voluminous carlingue-effect silver-embroidered jackets are sewn with bows and grosgrain ribbons. Floral prints brighten silk band dresses worn with wide block-colour trousers while blouses are associated with ottoman jackets.

1Komal Sood’s SS ‘16 collection – Feather of Freedom, spells glamour and poise while bringing forward the philosophy and concept of odd marriages translating to new aesthetics.

The feather motif, a core element of the entire collection, conveys an optimistic sense of lightness and freedom our spirits seek. The ensembles have been created using luscious, summery fabrics such as silk crepe, satin, and georgette silk that feature unique techniques like pleated antique sequin sheeting.

With a sophisticated color palette of soft, neutral, feather inspired colors, the collection features plush pearl white and creams, along with beige, gold, taupe and shades of grey, in a range of jumpsuits and pants, to shorts and breezy printed dresses, and the signature gowns. The silhouettes, which project modernity through contrasts, have been mastered keeping in mind a woman, who stands out with confidence and elegance seeking an optimistic path.

To celebrate its 37th birthday, Diesel announced the launch of its new global flagship website. For the first time in the brand’s history, users can enjoy one integrated customer experience: reading exclusive editorial content and shopping at the same time.

The new diesel.com follows and explodes the new tone of voice building a highly immersive brand experience. For example, the website is full of distinctly Diesel touches, including a cheeky shopping bag (‘Feed me, I’m hungry’) that won’t hesitate to hurry tentative buyers up if a product is low in stock (‘Be quick and I’m yours’).

Geared towards the mobile-only generation, the new Diesel.com site has been conceived as a fully responsive mobile-first platform, enabling users to enjoy a seamless content and commerce experience on the go.

To celebrate the launch, Nicola Formichetti has plunged deep into the brand archives to reproduce two iconic designs. Guys who never forgave themselves for missing them the first time round will finally be able to lay their hands on 2006’s tapered Slammer, whilst girls can enjoy a real blast from the past with the bootcut Hush from 2002.
