1Siyāh, the Fall / Winter 2015 Collection by AM:PM delves into the spellbinding world of Islamic crafts and architechture. Be it the exquisite carvings that once framed a poetic mehfil, or the intricate jaalis that held the secret embrace of lovers,Ankur & Priyanka Modi found surreal beauty in the expansive heart of India.

Intricate motifs and patterns have been painstakingly distilled from the elegant ivory inlay handcrafted on beautiful black sheesham, the collection elaborately embibes this fascinating art found in the remote Hoshiarpur of Punjab.

Luxurious fabrics such as silk, organza and satin have fluidic silhouettes of draped long tunics, anarkali jackets, layered skirts and nazakat dhotis. The heritage embroidery craft form of mukaish has also been delicately entwined through this Black & White collection.

Ankur and Priyanka Modi will present their Fall Winter collection on 28th August’2015 at LFW runway in Mumbai.

1Luxury brand Dior has released its much anticipated fragrance ad campaign featuring legendary actor Johnny Depp.2

The campaign was shot by Jean-Baptiste Mondino in the dessert of Joshua Tree National Park, in South-eastern California. The still image from the advertisement shows Johnny standing in a middle of desert and looking broodingly hot while folding his sleeve.

The new fragrance Sauvage was created by famous perfumer Francois Demachy. The scent itself is described as “an encounter between the raw and the noble,” and combines notes of bergamot and citrus with amber, Sichuan and pink pepper, geranium, vetiver and lavender to form a spicy, slightly bitter citrus scent.

The brand has also released a short teaser of the ad campaign video which was shot in the night. The full video will be launched in September.

doodlageIf you leave 27 year old, Delhi based designer Kriti Tula in a warehouse full of waste fabric, she is likely to emerge with an entire collection a few hours later. Swatches of fabric, an old pair of denims, tested pieces and even vintage garments – Tula salvages all by creating new garments out of them.

In 2012, she co-founded her label Doodlage with Rachna Jhunjhunwala, Paras Arora and Vaibhav Kapoor. The label is a blend of sustainable and exclusive high street fashion. The brand aims to merge innovative pattern making with intensive surface techniques to make fashion not just chic, also eco-friendly. The designer is set to open the brand’s first flagship store in 2016, with collections for men and children as well as home linens.

Kriti Tula will present her eco-friendly designs to vast audience with this year’s Lakme Fashion Week winter festive.  The designer’s next move is to work on a collaborated collection for Fabindia out of its post-production waste.

The label is currently available at Almari and Anonym in Hyderabad, The Orange Bicycle and Collage in Bangalore, Bliss, Creo and Sobo in Mumbai Sobo, Either Or in Pune, Teatro Dhora in Jaipur, Artisans Cottage in Ahmedabad, Sugar in Surat, Twist and  Green The Gap in New Delhi, Casa Maia in Raipur. 430Twinkle Khanna, India’s wittiest columnist unveiled her debut book Mrs. Funnybones published by Penguin Random House at the JW Marriott, Juhu, Mumbai. Full of wit and delicious observations, Mrs Funny Bones captures the life of the modern Indian woman—a woman who organizes dinner each evening but goes to work all day, who runs her own life but has to listen to her mummyji, who worries about her weight and the state of the country. Based on her super-hit columns, Mrs Funnybones marks the debut of one of our funniest, most original writers.

Well supported by her family including Akshay Kumar, mother Dimple Kapadia and sister Rinke Saran.

The evening presented by Caroline Newbury, of Random House India had a tongue-in-cheek chat between Karan Johar and Twinkle on the lines of Koffee with Karan .  The evening progressed with a session of personal anecdotes from Dr. Nozer Sheriar her gynecologist, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar and Dimple Kapadia. Present were Jaya Bachchan, Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Sonali Bendre, Chiki Sarkar,  Honey Irani, Simone Arora, Sussane Khan, Anu Dewan, Malavika Sangghvi, Ashwini Yardi, Sanvari Nair, Shrishti Behl, Gayatri and Vikas Oberoi, Saudamini Mattu, Devanshi Mehta, Shaan and Sharmilla Khan, Alka Surendra Hiranandani, Gurleen and Vijay Raheja among others.

1The Oasis at Sunset is a collection by Anushree Reddy that draws  inspiration from the new age girl; a girl that redefines fashion with all that’s modern and minimalist with a classic twist. For Anushree Reddy, this season is all about taking a leap into clashing kaleidoscopes of colour!

Reddy is inspired by the Victorian era and shows it off with delicate embroideries, lace and floral prints. Her colour palette dominants pastel and soft tones of nudes, peaches, vintage rose pink and beige moving into brighter tones likes shaded yellow, fuscia pink and jewel tones. Traditional hyderabadi zardozi embroidery by the most skilled karigars, on fluid fabrics like chiffons, georgettes, and nets in clean and cutting edge silhouettes, with a flawless twist of contemporary influences, is the mainstay of collection.
