200 nKnown to be the fifth highest paid model in the world, Chinese model Liu Wen recently shared a picture on social media suggesting that she might be the new face of the lately introduced Apple’s wearable gadget, Apple Watch.

With Apple desperately making attempts to enter the glitz and glamour of the fashion world, enlisting a fashion name to advertise its gadget seems quite likely.

Meanwhile, at 26 Liu Wen is frequent face during the fashion weeks, where she has walked the ramp for Dolce & Gabbana, Hermes, Gucci, Jean Paul Gaultier and Chanel. She has also been the spokesmodel of Estee Lauder and has signed contracts with H&M and Calvin Klein.

Ranked just after the super model Kate Moss, Liu Wen’s brand endorsing for Apple Watch is just another step towards her goal of grasping sky-high success!

The American iconic sneaker brand company, Converse sues as many as 31 brands including Fila, Ed Hardy, Ralph Lauren, Skechers and Walmart for breaching its copyright by selling copied versions of its infamous Chuck Taylor shoe.

Officially owned by Nike, the brand filed lawsuits in New York with the International Trade Commission, on the grounds that some of the leading fashion brands are infringing on trademarks that cover the look of the shoe, including core elements such as black stripes, recognizable ankle star, a rubber toe topper, and the diamond pattern on the sole.

The brand has reported the sale of these look-alikes Chuck Taylors becoming more common in the past years, where 180 ‘cease and desist’ letters related to the issue have been served.

Famed for its exclusive rubber sole and canvas fabrics, about 1 billion of Chuck Taylors have been sold in 2014 fiscal year.

Meanwhile, Converse chief executive Jim Calhoun now aims to stop this infringement and continue to be the proud owners of this American icon.

430 2Featuring over 160 of the world’s leading contemporary art galleries, the 12th edition of the Frieze Art Fair hit the grounds on 15th October in London. A hub of international super-consumers who are look forward to gracing their edgy installations despite their investment portfolios, the four day exhibition is an effective platform for the emerging artists, designers and numerous other talents to showcase their creativity.

Catering to the fashion industry as well, this year the art fair involves some of the leading fashion houses like Gucci, Selfridges and Alexander McQueen to name a very few.

Speaking of some of the highly creative and experienced artists, Phoebe Collings-James is the one to look for! For her, fashion and feminism refuse to be exclusive, wherein most of her paintings are informed by her experiences as a model.

Cindy Sherman is amongst the other exhibitors, the one who has been a great fan of Marc Jacobs, Rei Kawakubo, Stella McCartney, Marni and Narciso Rodriguez. Her photography is known to be sold for several millions, which is basically the major reason for her binge shopping at Marni. For her, fad with fashion and art with artists is a great accessory!

Sylvie Fleury, on the other hand is a die-heart fan of contemporary fashion. She has shot beams of light through sculptures of boots bought on Net-a-Porter.com, and displayed luxury shopping bags as installation art.

Artist Marina Abramovic is known to be entirely committed to her practice, and is a big fan of Givenchy. For her, Riccardo Tisci is for me the most inventive designer of the moment.

Last but not the least, Polly Morgan is someone who favours sleekly luxurious clothes – Tod’s, Joseph, Céline, Les Chiffoniers – as well as arresting conversational gambits.

Thus, the Frieze Art Fair 2015 is surely going to be a one stop destination wherein vistiors can experience the epitome of the glamorous world of fashion and the antiquity of works from some of the highly creative artists!

The fun and frolic of the Tokyo Fashion Week continues with its second day with fashion labels like Yasutoshi Ezumi, Ha Ha, Fleamadonna and Matohu amongst many others, showcasing their collections on the run way.

As the curtains were raised by Yasutoshi Ezumi, the onlookers were left in a bit of surprise as the designer showcased the creations on a non-runway platform. The creations were however, very simple, subtle and feminine with delicate and free flowing silhouettes. The wearability of the garments was exclusively restricted to formal and semi-formal day wear, including layered dresses, coats, jackets, skirts, blouses and many more.

580Labels Ha Ha, Fleamadonna and Matohu stepped in next with their respective subtlety on the runway. For the former it was mostly about structured silhouettes and one of kind over-sized garments. One feels the unconventionality that the designer aspires to display, from within after a close look at the garments. Fleamadonna however, was all about being cool, casual and funky street style. Lovable on surface prints was one of the major essences of the collection. Matohu, on the other hand, came up with a simplistic and elegant collection in basis shades of white along with glimpses of navy blue. Yet again, swaying away from the rampant conventions, the collection was meant for those who are ambitious, yet believe in constant styling and dynamism.

Amongst the other highlights of the day, labels like A Degree Fahrenheit, Patchy Cake Eater and Ritsuko Sirahama left the audience completely surprised and flabbergasted. As the excitement inflated like milestones on the second day, the forth coming days of Tokyo Fashion Week Spring Summer 2015 are highly awaited!
