We have now approached the second half of this exciting Japanese fashion week, where everything from subtlety to glamour has been felt and experienced. Now as the fourth day kicked off, onlookers stepped in expecting more novelties and innovations.
Surprisingly, the day started with labels Dressedundressed and Cote Mer, each of whose collections were men’s wear. Minimalism attached with funk was at the core of both the collections. The former’s collection had partial glimpses of formal office wear, and was otherwise dominated by casual street wear with oversized ensembles. Cote Mer, however, kept a little more sophisticated while even his creations were more or less street wear. Comfort factor was given prior importance in both the collections.
Corazon del Alma, In-Process by Hall Ohara and Beautiful People were the other breath taking fashion labels showcasing on the runway. The former’s creations were resort ready, awe-inspiring and delicately feminine. A floral scheme of colours and free flowing silhouettes worked at the designer’s advantage. For In-Process by Hall Ohara, it was all about being classier. Vintage floral prints, applique stripes and Hawaiian looks were amongst the major highlights. Beautiful People stood the most unique of all, showcasing an exclusively sporty collection. Check-printed boxers, zipper jackets, shorts, sneakers and jumpsuits amongst others, summed up Ready to Wear Beautiful People by Hidenori Kumakiri.
Last but not the least, 99%IS came up with a dynamic and loud men’s wear collection. The clothes targeted men who love edgy, embellished street-wear such as motorcycle jackets, biker pants and a long, blue coat with leather sleeves. The collection could be solely responsible for freshening up the mood of the evening wherein onlookers too received the collection with great applause and admiration.
The Tokyo Fashion Week is now gradually moving towards its end, with the last two days coming up this weekend! Let’s see what the actual outcome of the entire fashion week would turn out to be.
