As a technology brand, Apple stands alone when it comes to providing smoothest and the most technologically advanced electronics. However, the company is equally conscious about fashion and its ideologies, especially with reference to its hiring fashion executives like Angela Ahrendts, former Burberry CEO and Paul Deneve, former Yves Saint Laurent CEO.

580 1Progressing further on marking its footprints in fashion world, it unveiled its recently launched Apple Watch at the famed Paris concept store Colette, during the on-going Paris Fashion Week. The device is due out next year and has been exclusively worked on by Mark Newson.

A one of kind piece of wearable technology, the watch reinvents a very traditional typology that dates back to the 19th century is prized for haute craftsmanship.

580Speaking of Apple’s other forays in the fashion world; it showcased its latest iphone 6 and the watch preview during the New York Fashion Week at Cupertino Headquarters.

200Naomi Cambell, the vivacious British super model has successfully bagged a recurring role in Lee Daniels new drama which will be aired on Fox Channel.

She will play the role of Camilla, who is an ‘alluring woman’ involved in a steamy affair with their eldest son, and frontrunner to inherit the business, Hakeem.

Co-created and produced by Oscar nominated Lee Daniels, the drama will effectively cater to the highly entertaining genre of hip-hop drama.

With this progress in her career, Cambell steps forward to follow the footsteps of actresses like Halle Berry, Oprah, Gabourey Sidibe and Mo’Nique. Besides, she has also been previously featured in shows like ‘The Cosby Show’, ‘New York Undercover’ and ‘Spike Lee’s Girl 6’.

A professional architect and professor at the prestigious Parsons the New School for Design, Tania Ursomarzo comes up with an exclusive footwear collection titled ‘Triptych’, with the unique blend of architecture with fashion.

The spring summer 2015 collection is replete of six boots and booties which have been minutely handcrafted in Italy, its soft leathers and suede. Effectively showcasing architectural elements with sharp angles, smooth curves, wedge heels, loose boot shafts and gathered uppers, the designer keeps up to the mark with its goal of creating season-less and evergreen shoes.

Speaking of the processing of the collections, Ursomarzo underwent a 13 months long research for a factory that could bring life to her ideology for the collection. Keeping intact all the essentialities when it comes to footwear, comfort, high-quality and individuality for instance, she gave the best of efforts to come up with something, which has never been seen before in the markets.

In exclusive pastel shades of nude, bottle green and dull black amongst others, the collection is now available at the leading fashion boutiques and will also be available at a Kickstarter campaign running through 3rd October.

150Urvashi Kaur’s ZIRAN for WIFW SS’15, is a collection bursting with sub-Chinese vivacity, finding its inspiration in the nomadic folk of Xining, China, so far unspoken, unseen and unaccounted for. As people far removed from Mainland China and all its popular connotations, her sartorial sojourn attempts to pay homage to their unmistakable honesty, inherent rawness, cultural evolution and free-spirited irreverence.

Indigo as her base palette, the designer infuses Ecru, naturally occurring Jute colors, and less ferocious color palettes to break the overwhelming tendency of the dark tones. Pop colors of Orange, Yellow, Pink and Turquoise; find presence across the collection as subtle accents through the use of tassels, pom-poms, tapes and ribbons.150 1

A deliberate move is the experimentation with horizontal stripes, and the introduction of plaid, both of which are subjected to an anything but traditional translation. Engineered placements of Shibori, Block Prints and the tie and dye technique spill over from previous collections, with the infusion of batik and circular motifs.

250Karl Lagerfeld answered the highly anticipated and derogatory question of the association of fashion with feminism, that too in the affirmative.

For his Spring Summer 2015 runway show during the Paris Fashion Week, the designer catered to an exclusive feminist March, wherein his band of feminist models walked down the ‘Boulevard Chanel’ holding signs and hoardings which stated slogans like, ‘Ladies First’, ‘Free Freedom’ and ‘Make Fashion Not War’.

Models like Cara Delevingne and Caroline de Maigret had megaphones in hand as a parade of models including Kendall Jenner, Georgia May Jagger, Edie Campbell, Joan Smalls, and Gisele Bündchen brandished signs that read ‘History is Her Story’, ‘Feminism Not Masochism’ and ‘We Can Match the Machos’.

ARP3985016Did Lagerfeld just himself turned into a feminist? Well, time alone can foretell! However, with this attempt, he surely took a step forward with a very sensitive and personal issue within the realm of fashion industry.

A whooping amount of mind-throbbing fashion houses were seen on day 8 of the Paris Fashion Week. Chanel, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Valentino, Iris Van Herpen, Shiatzy Chen, Paul and Joe and Alexander McQueen were some of the giants who showcased their respective ready to wear creations on the runway.

500Speaking of Chanel, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and Valentino, terrific trio came up with what is known to be the most extraordinary collections of all times. Structured and oversized silhouettes embedded 3D check embroidery, applique traditional prints and geometrical prints listed among the embellishments. While Chanel and Valentino preferred a comparatively sober and vintage scheme of colours like basic violet and navy blue to name a very few, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac showcased the fondness for a bright scheme of colours including pastel orange, lemon yellow and shiny white.

580The day progressed with Iris Van Herpen, Shiatzy Chen and Paul and Joe, the collections of whom were more simplistic and minimal yet complemented with a dash of elegance. The former’s creations were more inclined to formal and partial semi-formal wear. While Shiatzy came up with more bling and metallic finishes, along with an exuberant colour scheme including Lucite green, sky blue, baby pink and strawberry ice to name a few. Besides, for the label Paul and Joe, the designer curated an exclusive collection of day wear ensembles with some free flowing silhouettes and soothing to the eye surface prints and designs.

As Alexander McQueen steeped forward to put the curtains down for the day, the entire ambience of the evening took a full circle turn. High amount of drama and mysticism hit on the runway with a completely dark and dull collection. Surprisingly however, glimpses of light pastel pink, onion violet and dull grey could also be spotted. Gothic yet applique surface prints, enlarging silhouettes, and cross-cuts footwear proved to be the highpoint for Alexander McQueen’s spring summer 2015 ready to wear collection.

The charm of the French fashion week now approaches its end with its grand finale on 1st October. Grandeur celebration along with the highly famed fashion labels on the runway, are amongst the top expectations of the onlookers.
