Milano moves towards the fun and frolic of the second day of its spring summer 2015 fashion week. The day got acquainted with some of the masters of the fashion market like Emporio Armani, Fendi, Max Mara, Just Cavalli, Prada, Moschino and Dsquared2 to name a few. Besides, Malo, Uma Wang, Costume National, Blugirl, Fabiana Filippi, and Ports 1961 were among the rest of the charismatic elements of the day.

580 1Speaking of their ready to wear collections, Emporio Armani, Fendi and Max Mara came up with some user-friendly ensembles, which were comfortable and feminine. Where both Fendi and Max Mara presented a complete day wear collection, there Emporio Armani, was replete of some exquisite evening wear ensembles. A few on-surface floral prints and safari prints could be spotted in Fendi and Max Mara. Armani, however, focussed on showcasing the exuberance in the gorgeous navy blue colour, vastly.

580 2Moving on to Cavalli, Prada, Moschino and Dsquared 2, the collections comprised of diverse themes and differentiated wearability. To begin with Just Cavalli, the collection included some formal and semi-formal wear in pastel and glossy colour shades. While Prada focussed completely on dark and dull including some edgy trench coats, skirts and blouses and sleek dresses. Moschino presented a Barbie themed collection which included sporty sweatshirts, trousers, sporty dresses, head bands, clutches, carry bags, and many more. The retro looks of the collection were most rejoiced among the onlookers. Lastly, Dsquared 2 showcased a couple of structured silhouettes and sporty 3D embellishments. The collection was ideal for the women who believe in keeping it stylish and completely off the edge with the correct amount of drama and attitude.

580The day progressed with some of the major highlights like Uma Wang, Costume National and Blugirl. With black as the dominant colour option, Costume National came up with a frequency of free flowing silhouettes and elegant looking embellishments. For Uma Wang, it was vastly about keeping it simple with a touch of sophistication, including mild and pastel colours of dull browns, rusts and maroons. Blugirl, on the other hand, showcased some chic easy to wear dresses with the very sleek high waist belts, free flowing gowns, mini-skirts and much more.

All in all, the second day of the fashion week in Milan was met with various surprises and innovations for the onlookers. Let’s see how the upcoming days will turn out to be.

Famed men’s fashion retailer and savant Nick Wooster joins hands with the Swedish underwear brand ‘The White Briefs’, to curate and all new capsule collection for the fine wool textile industry of Australia, The Woolmark Company.

1Comprising of briefs, tee-shirts, tank tops, leggings, shirts, and long pants, the collection will be entirely made of fine and luxurious wool. Disregarding the infamous itchy element of wool as a fabric, Wooster believes that wool is way too superior to other fabrics, majorly because of its absorbency, sustainability and biodegradability.

The collection is scheduled to be launched in January during the up-market Pitti Uomo trade show.

Burger King has launched two all black burger in Japan. Their new Kuro Diamond and Kuro Pearl(‘kuro’ is ‘black’ in Japanese) burgers will each feature black buns, black slices of cheese, and a black sauce.

The Kuro Diamond Burger is a little more colorful with onions, tomato, lettuce, mayonnaise, and a customized squid ink sauce whereas Kuro Pearl burger, lacks the veggies.

In order to create the fascia, Burger King darkened the buns and cheese with bamboo charcoal and mixed the meat with scores of black pepper and will sell for approximately 690 yen ($6.40) and 480 yen ($450).

Stella McCartney kicked off the Bavarian Oktoberfest season with a party along with first time showcase of her spring’15 collection at the St. Emmeramsmühle beer garden in Munich. The pre-Oktoberfest party was co-hosted by Susanne and Christoph Botschen and Joshua Schulman, President of Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus Group International. In the true spirit of the 181 year old folk festival, the beer garden was decorated with Oktoberfest games including a traditional carousel and the strongman game “Hau Den Lukas”, an Oktoberfest staple.

Models dressed in pieces from the Spring 2015 collection mingled with the guests. The Happy Bavarians performed traditional songs and dances, in vegan lederhosen. Guests were treated to a beautifully executed vegetarian twist on Bavarian fare, which included Vegetarian hot dogs, Pretzels, Chicoree leaves with traditional Bavarian Liptauer and Obzada. Guest drank Hugo’s (a traditional German summer Drink), Taittinger Champagne and Spaten Beer.

An exclusive exploration of the two must creative and engaging art forms, ‘Dance and Fashion’ is a one of a kind exhibition. Held at one of the most fashionable museums in New York City, the exhibition is organised by the museum’s director Dr. Valerie Steele. It features as many as 100 never seen before dance costumes and dance-inspired fashions, ranging from the 19th century to the present.

Designer’s curating for the ballet section list to Yves Saint Laurent and Riccardo Tischi of Givenchy (for the Paris Opera Ballet), Christian Lacroix, and Jean Paul Gaultier, plus Valantino Garavani, Prabal Gurung, Giles Mendel, Olivier Theyskens, Rodarte, and Iris Van Herpen.

580Besides, a modern dance section including Narciso Rodriguez for Morphoses, Francisco Costa for Elisa Monte, and Tara Subkoff for Stephen Petronio amongst others, an African-Caribbean inspired costumes from Katherine Dunham, flamenco-inspired dresses by designers Oscar de la Renta, and Ralph Lauren to name a few, are some of the other highlighting features of the exhibition.

The exhibition is open for the visitors until January 3, 2015.

Finally, the fashion freak fashionistas have stepped in Milan for the mind-throbbing Milan Fashion Week Spring Summer 2015. The day saw some of the high ending fashion labels on the runway, starting with Angelos Bratis, Stella Jean, Andrea Incorti, Gucci, I’m Isola Marras, Fay, Alberta Ferreti, No. 21 and a few more.

580 3To start with Alberta Ferrati, the designer’s creations were dominated by the mild and soothing essence of the nude peach colour. A mix and mash of the evening and the day wear, the ensembles were extensively made glorious with applique floral motifs and elegant surface prints.

However, for Andrea Incorti and Angelos Bratis, it was all about luscious evening wear and glamorous Hawaiian looks. Where the former preferred more vibrant and vivacious combinations of colours for its gowns, dresses and midis among others, the latter stuck to being minimalistic, with the use of some basic pastel colours and free flowing silhouettes.

580 1Moving on, for Fay, Fausto Puglisi and Francesco Scognamiglio, keeping it street style chic yet extremely exuberant and glamorous was at the core. Of the three, Fay presented the most playful collection of all times, ideal for all sorts of casual hangouts and parties. Fausto Puglisi, on the other hand, kept himself more attached to sophistication along with the additional bling and shine of the disco theme. Francesco stood unique among all, showcasing a couple of evening wear dresses made in the attractive see through fabric, embellished with intricate floral surface and 3D embroideries.

Speaking of Gucci and I’m Isola Marras, the collections from the two luxurious designer labels proved to be the surpassing elements of the entire day. Gucci’s Frida Giannini presented a marvellous formal and semi-formal collection, true to the brand’s signature style statements. A variegates palette of colours was one of the outshining factors, which included mahogany red, rusty orange, pastel orange, navy blue, maroon, safari green and many others. The designer also showcased a few iconic handbags, which the brand is exclusively known for. A variety of embellishments like furs, belts, buttons, soft patch work etc. further added to the differentiated features of the collection.
