In an attempt to inspire the future generations and celebrate Late Alexander McQueen’s legacy, Victoria and Albert Museum organises ‘Savage Beauty’, the designer’s works with a dramatic staging and sense of spectacle. The show will be open in the spring of 2015, tickets of which are already on sale.

It will be the first and largest retrospective of the late designer’s work to be presented in Europe and will feature the designer’s works from his MA graduate collection of 1992 to his unfinished fall collection in 2010.

The exhibition’s original version has been amongst the museum’s top 10 most visited exhibitions. The museum has been a great source of inspiration for the designer and it features some of the designer’s creations as a permanent part of its collections.

Having worked at organising the exhibition since 2011, the museum finally concludes it now in partnership with the jewellery brand Swarovski, supported by the American Express.

Lancôme’s new Nouvelle Vague project will be launched with three esteemed Parisian designers creating couture make up bags.

Along with Simon Porte Jacquemus and Alexandre Vauthier, Yiqing Yin has designed a bespoke piece for the project entitled Nouvelle Vague by Lancôme. Best known for her haute couture creations as well as being artistic director of Leonard, Yiqing has labeled her make-up bag as “multipurpose”. Simon described his bag as “very minimalist”. The round pink case has a white strap attached making it easy to travel with, while Alexandre’s has taken inspiration from black lacquered cosmetics, and his glossy satin and lambskin bag is carried on a gold chain.

Fifty bags from each designer will be sold for three months in selective retailers worldwide from mid June.

This Kolkata based designer graduated from National Institute of Fashion Technology, Mumbai. During her graduation, she won the Most Commercial Designer Award from Pantaloons Retail India Ltd. She curated her eponymous label in September 2011. It comprises of complete hand-woven clothing made from rich and intricate weaves woven on simple handlooms.

The designer has always adored detailing, hand woven fabrics, and ideating interesting silhouettes. As she grew as a designer, she got selected for the giant platform like Lakme Fashion Week and has been part of Spring Summer 2012 and 2013 and Summer Resort 2014. Her latest collection at LFW Summer Resort 2014 was showcased under the category of gen-next designers and was titled ‘Summer Houses’.

Speaking of her other milestones, her designs have been gracefully appreciated and worn by celebrities like Ilena D’Cruz, Vidya Balan and Priyanka Bose to name a few. Also, her label was mentioned in the BTW magazine as one of the ‘Rising Stars’ in its June issue of 2013. Furthermore, she was privileged by her label being featured in the Verve and the Abraxas Lifestyle Magazine.

She successfully retails her collection at leading designer stores like Melange, Creo, Kimaya, Anonym and Collage in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore. Her collection can also be bought online at jabong.com.

Burberry celebrated the launch of its new Shanghai flagship store, Burberry Kerry Centre, by bringing the spirit, creativity and heritage of the brand from its hometown of London into the heart of Shanghai, China. Celebrating with a global audience, over 1500 guests, including Jamie Campbell Bower, Chen Kun, Vicki Zhao, GueyLun Mei, Xia Yu, Chen Ran, Dou Xiao, HuoSiyan, Angelababy, Carine Lau, KeZheng Dong, Lin Chilling and Du Juan, followed a paved London street flanked by city street lamps into the auditorium of a cinematic theatre style set.

On the banks of the Huangpu River, the custom-built venue in the Shanghai Shipyard features handcrafted elements inspired by the brand’s global flagship. The evocative space, a nod to the golden age of cinema, became the backdrop for an immersive journey through the Burberry worlds of Britishness, heritage, music and fashion and the brand’s story unfolded in a series of emotive, musical scenes, featuring a live performance from British musician Ed Harcourt introduced the Burberry Bloomsbury girls including models Cara Delevingne, Suki Waterhouse and Qin Shu Pei. The magical journey culminated in a finale with British model and actress Cara Delevingne flying above the audience.

A line of art and design inspired by the splendor of the decorative arts of majestic forts, lyrical tombs and precious palaces of the subcontinent, witnessed the stunning Installations by Alex Davis.
