Ace designer Franklin Eugene reveals a glimpse of his summer/resort collection 2015. For someone who completely believes in himself and expression of the personality through the clothes itself, Franklin’s range of shorts with a Hollywood waist, a Tuxedo, and buttoned shirts are an apt creation of his ideologies.

A graduate from London College of fashion, Franklin owns his trademark eight button arm cuff and the hallmark of his summer resort collection- The Jirt, which is wearable as both, a jacket and a shirt. Apart from his unique sense of designing, the designer has his own simplistic inspiration drawn from nature and its elements.

The outshining feature of his creations is the fact that he engages himself with the world around him. Franklin additionally produces men’s and women’s Italian leather accessories.

His creativity can be bought on a pre-order basis on wholesale pricing. However, he also retails his collection from exclusive stores in Milan and Italy and excitingly looks forward to exhibiting his collection at Milan Men’s Fashion Week Men’s Spring/Summer 2015.

Stars, glitz and glamour was in abundance at the opening of Germany’s first FENDI boutique. The luxury Italian brand held the official opening of its store at 12–14 Maximilianstrasse, a historical 19th-century building.

Over champagne and gourmet delicacies, the VIPs had the opportunity to examine the latest FENDI collection in the store’s two floors and 365 square metres. In addition to Ready-to-Wear and Accessories, particularly popular departments among women guests were the Made-to-Order Corner and the VIP Room for individual fittings.

A BMW shuttle service then whisked guests to the Haus der Kunst, for the exclusive opening of the photography exhibition “The Glory of Water” which will run from 19 – 25March 2014. The exhibition presents fascinating photographs of Rome’s fountains taken by Karl Lagerfeld, a restored version of the fashion film produced by FENDI in 1977, “Histoire D’Eau” and an illustrated volume of the same name published by STEIDL-Verlag.

The guests received a personal welcome from the hosts, Pietro Beccari (Chairman and CEO of FENDI), Karl Lagerfeld (Creative Director) and Silvia Venturini Fendi (Creative Director Accessories).

Associated with the purple of aristocracy and the royalty the world over, The royal sport was brought back by Royal Punjab Polo with region’s first ever Polo championship“Maharaja Ranjit Singh Polo Premier Challenge” in Ludhiana. Three teams English Stallion, Punjab Saddlers and Royal Rangers, led by seasoned polo players Sameer Suhag, DhruvpalGodara and Rajkumar Karan Vijay Singh battled for the title over the three days from 7to 9 March at the exquisite location of Ireo Waterfront.

MRSPPC brought back the royal legacy, unmatched power, class and tradition and over the bar aggression to the land of kings. Ritu Kumar ventures launched her first flagship store in Dubai at the bustling BurJuman Mall, a premium destination for finest luxury brands in Dubai. With this new store, the Ritu Kumar brand has increased its presence to over 35 stores globally and is now working on massive expansion plans to increase its footprint within India.

The store has been designed with the new contemporary look and feel ,spread over 1900 sq ft, the store seeks to offer the discerning Dubai populace a wide variety and range that has universal appeal. The store will stock the latest Spring Summer’14 collections from all three sub-brands; Label – Western pret apparel, Ritu Kumar – Ready to wear Indian ethnic apparel and Ri – Festive and occasion-wear.

The enthusiast started her works of creativity at the tender age of seven as she grew up making her own handkerchiefs. Having practiced the art of hemming, knitting and embroidering etc since childhood, Anavila’s decided to set pillars for her dream by joining NIFT, Delhi.

During her graduation days, she was chosen to manage a Craft Cluster Development Project by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, in collaboration with NIFT. This milestone in her career intensified her keenness for Indian crafts and textiles. Furthermore, the designer is a nature admirer who showcases the same through her botanical inspired applique work.

Her creations are a unique invention of the casual linen sarees. She essentially concentrates patterns, colour combinations, drapes and folds. Most of her works are inspired by the Santhal women of Jharkhand, which give a unique edge of simplicity to her garments.

She marks her grand debut at the Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2014, showcasing her collection titled ‘Secret Life of Forests’. Aptly titled, the linen sarees were made for the simple Indian women, printed with elements of nature.

Also, she retails her collection through Bombay Electric in Mumbai, Amethyst in Chennai , Raintree and Cinnamon in Bangalore.

Bethann Hardison, who has been unleashing the not so diverse side of the fashion industry for years, will receive her much deserved Council of Fashion Designers of America’s Founders Award in June.

Her career profile states her kick-starting in the 1960s, followed by her becoming a modelling agent in 1984 and the creation of the Diversity Coalition, which was comprised all the industry professionals, belonging to diverse races.A stimulator for activism of the cause, Bethann’s involvement in the fashion world for decades worked as an effective catalyst to conclude to this award.

Bethann most definitely is the epitome of confidence and courage, revealing the much unspoken and ignored aspect among fashionistas. The activist now plans to reveal her fashion diversity based documentary and further enhancing her ways to promote inclusiveness in the industry.
