The first day of the jewellery week culminated with a spectacular and innovative show by Nirav Modi, displaying his jewellery collection for the first time.

Celestial Emerald Necklace, designed as a beautiful geometric mosaic of all emerald-cut and asscher-cut diamonds mystically set into a halo of brilliant cut diamonds was seen on the ramp,combining it with a rare and beautiful ring designed as a delicate and intricate ribbon composed of fancy yellow and colourless diamond brilliant-cuts, holding a magnificent 9 carat natural fancy yellow radiant-cut diamond in the centre.

Luminous and lightweight necklace from the Mughal Collection, inspired by the iconic motifs of Mughal miniature art with all the petals in the floral head, created with a specifically developed diamonds called Mughal cut diamonds was the show stopper.

Moni Agarwal, collection named ‘The Voyage of Satlada’ was inspired by the history and the culture of the city of Nizams   at the India International Jewellery Week 2013. The iconic Satlada is a seven string pearl necklace from the 19^th century. This piece of precious bejewelled art was a collector’s item and was donned by Queens of that golden era. Popularised by Maharani Bhagmati from the royal family of Nizams, the satlada depicts the preciousness of the woman as the jewels.

With its ability to create most intrinsic and inspired jewellery, a world leader in G&J education, GIA attracts students from all over the country and the globe. Covering diamonds, coloured stones and Pearls, Gemological Institute of America presented jewellery designs by five of their best talents namely Prachi Bora, Yaashvie Kabra, Neha Shah, Jagriti Sachdeva and Kajal Nair at the ongoing IIJW 2013.

Keeping the clothes very simple – black tights with sheer floor length covers by designer Neha Basu – the collections was a perfect foil for the superb jewellery.

The renowned brand Gehna Jewellers presented their outstanding new collection of modern intertwined with tradition glittering designs at IIJW, with a unique rock-themed show.

Models walked down the ramp in emeralds, polkis and south sea pearls. From rose cut diamonds to gorgeous gold with precious stones, the collection was a veritable feast for the eyes. The rock chic ensembles designed by renowned designer Shaina NC, coupled with smoky eyes provided just the palette for the jewellery.
