Well, expressing emotions is a humanly need whatever the medium may be. Anguish, yearning, love, sense of being triumphant, anger, or merely a plain story stated through tattoos are of most relevance of one who gets inked.

Though hackneyed might be the act of getting inked these days with repetitive designs and ideas producing an army of clones but sometimes we chance upon a piece of art tattooed portraying someone’s palpable tears, smiles, resilience and pride. One such emotion-tickling story is of Inga Duncen Thronell, a breast cancer survivor who got her chest tattooed completely with intricate floral and vine motifs.

The tattoo as shown in the picture is done by Seattle based artist Tina Baforo and it took one Sunday a month over two-and-a-half years to complete this design. And what comes as a surprise is that the picture of this woman posted on social networking platform Facebook was banned by the site claiming that it violated its rules on nudity.

If the drama of Vivienne Westwood Red Label or raunchiness of Rihanna’s River Island Collection ruled the first three days of London Fashion Week, of course besides loads of scintillating designs, the last two days took this fashion extravaganza to another dimension with designers worth their salt belting out the lyrical melodies infused with colors, structures, prints, patterns and embellishments.

On Day 4, designer Christopher Kane brilliantly showcased his Autumn Winter 2013 collection of unconventional oversized silhouettes mixing up to create new forms. The appliqued dresses, detailed skirts and patterned coats completed the collection. While Erdem’s love for prints was not that absolute as furs, abundance of sheer and appliques were playing hide and seek throughout the collection featuring long dresses and coats in earthy hues predominantly.

Tom Ford’s latest womenswear collection saw prints, embellishments and colors galore. From leopard printed pieces to monochromes, the collection was a brilliant mix of fabrics as evidenced by furry neon bomber jacket paired up with lace top and trouser. On the other hand, Peter Pilotto unveiled a collection infused with interesting prints and embroideries on mannish coats, jackets and skirts.

The final day saw Meadham Kirchhoff playing with black, white and gold, presenting a vintage inspired collection infused with gothic elements. From long velvet dresses to A-line dresses, coats and flared trousers the collection was a beautiful mix of different fabrics and patterns. The Delhi-born fashion designer Ashish Gupta was at his grungy best showcasing street style looks on the ramp. The oversized pinafores in denim, use of bright neon on jackets and pants, checkered dresses and sweat shirts paired with skirts gave an eclectic look to the collection.
