All indulged in bright and playful celebrations the British fashion house Burberry unveils its Spring Summer 2013 campaign highlighting men’s and women’s iconic outerwear.

The campaign lights up with infectious energy of a young cast of old and new Burberry family. It features models like Cara Delevingne, Edie Campbell, Charlotte Wigginns, Charlie France and Alex Dunstan sharing space with Romeo Beckham and Max Rendell.

Showcasing Spring Summer Burberry Prorsum, London and Brit collections, the campaign has been shot by photographer Mario Testino, under the creative direction of Christopher Bailey. Made up of evolving multi-media content including images and videos, the campaign will be revealed across the brand’s online and offline platforms throughout the season.

 
With an aim to spread awareness about breast cancer ‘Pinkathon 2012 – Run to Lead’ was organized recently in Mumbai.

A joint effort by the Women’s Cancer Initiative led by renowned socialite and breast cancer survivor – Devika Bhojwani, Tata Memorial Hospital and model-turned-actor Milind Soman, the International women’s 10km run was powered by Talwalkars, one of the largest chains of health clubs in India.

The first ever women race was graced by the celebrities, along with the citizens of Mumbai who ran to raise funds for the cause of breast cancer. Actress Karishma Kapoor flagged off the race, to later be joined by model turned actress Lisa Haydon, VJ Anusha Dhandekar and actress Tara Sharma.
 
For those art lovers who relate artist M.F. Husain to horses and pastoral delights only here is a chance to explore his other sides as Pundole Art Gallery in Mumbai is coming up with an auction of works pertaining to his early days as an artist.

From the collection of a renowned Hyderabad-based collector, late Badri Vishal Pitti, the works of Husain on sale includes some 400 pieces dating from 1940s to 1970s. One of the widest archive from the artist’s early years, the auction comprises of sketches, postcards, small studies, drawings and paintings and mixed-media works.

Most of the works going under hammer were created by Husain at the Hyderabad residence of Pitti, with whom he used to share a cordial bond. The auction will take place at Pundole Gallery in Mumbai on January 17, 2013. The starting price of the postcard is around Rs 80,000.

 
The artistic collaborations for which Louis Vuitton is known for continue this Spring Summer either with the brand roping in artist Daniel Buran to create a pattern of checkered illusion.

After making a stunning backdrop at Louis Vuitton’s Spring Summer 2013 showcasing, the yellow-white pattern appears in its ad campaign for the season. Following the concept of repetition the campaign pairs the girls as twins – sometimes perfectly matched, and other times tad mismatched. 

Shot by photographer Steven Meisel the campaign stars Janice Alida, Athena Wilson, Bria Condon, Tian Yi, Magdalena Jaesk, Ruby Jean Wilson, Nastya Kusakina and Ji Hye.

 
The storied Italian denim brand Armani Jeans makes its way to Indian Shores with two stores – opened recently at Select City Walk and DLF Promenade in New Delhi.

The stores house fall collection for both men and women including apparels and accessories. The collection features shirts, pants, jackets and dresses, alongside the denim segment, all glammed up with a strong play of logos and interesting details – highlighting the strong silhouettes Armani Jeans is hailed worldwide for.

Embodying young, relaxed and contemporary style, Armani Jeans is a bridge-line collection of denim-related clothing created in 1981 by Giorgio Armani with the profile of an eagle and the designer’s initials as the logo.  
 
For Prefall 2013, the Gucci woman is a contemporary femme fatale, has Austere yet seductive femininity who relishes in her own dark mood.  Armed with an invulnerable aesthetic, she has an elusive sensuality – like the protagonist in a game of pursuit,says Creative Director Frida Giannini. 

Sculpted shapes embracing the body, accentuated waistlines with darts, peplum cuts, belting, and buckles, introduces skirts as a strong statement. Above the knee, the little black dress with the sweetheart neckline undergoes a reinterpretation thanks to jacquard workings recalling snake skin. Thick leather belts defining a fluid yet never languid dress with fitted coats fastened by ribbon-belts like robe-manteaux and oversized styles from a masculine undercurrent in a nuanced palette of muted greens, ruby and brick red, turquoise, mauve, grey and black. 
 
Tod’s launches a special Limited Edition to celebrate its iconics: the Gommino and the D Bag, timeless classics that has become synonymous for the Brand.
 
The limited edition Gommino is available in two-tone exotic leather and pony skin, or in suede with hand stitched embroideries or in pony skin with hand stitched metal studs. Together with these masterpiece mocassins, the Gommino has also been reinterpreted in metallic and iridescent soft calf skin.
 
 
The multi-designer boutique Samsaara, along with designer Nachiket Barve recently hosted an afternoon dedicated to fashion with an exclusive showcase of cocktail and resort-wear from 7 of Mumbai’s favourite designers, at its Kemps Corner boutique in Mumbai.

The designers bringing the best of holiday and evening wear out of their satchels included Nachiket Barve, Pria Kataria Puri, Cherie D, Komal Sood, James Ferreira, Ramona Narang and Zooni. Designer Pria Kataria Puri’s collection titled, ‘Red Carpet’ comprising of gowns and evening dresses is inspired from gemstones colors such as pearly whites, ruby reds and emerald green, and done in fabrics like silk chiffons, lace, stretch satin and Lycra.

Exuding old world glamour, Cherie D’s collection circulates around the old world glamour of Hollywood. With a hint of embroidery and a cut and shape suited to the standard of European markets, the collection encompasses silhouettes of different forms, from peplum dresses, long gowns, tapered shirts, and skirts-enhanced by the subtle choice of embroidery and beadwork.

On the other hand, designer Komal Sood’s collection comes inspired by sunsets with contrasting color gradations. Done in silk georgettes and satins the collection features shades electric crimson, violets, deep wines and black while Zooni’s collection is a refined blend of traditional crafts and a modern aesthetic.

The event was glammed up by the presence of all the designers showcasing their collections.
