The Australian supermodel, or one of the famous angels of Victoria’s Secret, married to Hollywood star Orlando Bloom, Miranda Kerr will adorn the high street fashion label Mango’s billboards this Spring Summer.

The catwalk queen has replaced Kate Moss as the new face of Mango, the Spanish retailer known for its modish masstige products. Moss, who was roped in by the label in January 2012, had come there in the place of model Isabeli Fontana.

Miranda Kerr will be the ambassador for the brand and will feature in its Spring Summer 2013 ad campaign shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

Last year it was Sir Paul Smith receiving the Outstanding Achievement Award at British Fashion Awards but this year comes the announcement that it’s the legendary shoe master Manolo Blahnik who will be taking one of the most prestigious awards to home.

The British Fashion Awards due on November 27 at Savoy Hotel in London will honor Blahnik for making an impact on the global fashion industry. The Outstanding Achievement Award has been voted for by a team of renowned journalists and retailers, paying tribute to Blahnik’s par excellence.

It was back in the end of 60s when Manolo Blahnik started his career as a shoe designer. And over the time he turned out to be the favourite of movie stars appearing on red carpet in his so called ‘better than sex’ heels.

Now, when the season of gifts and surprises is around the corner fancy designer pieces have started pouring in. And the latest to catch your sight is a range of stockings by Selfridges.

The limited edition range of stockings has been created by designers Karl Lagerfeld, Henry Holland, Moschino, Maison Martin Margiela and Barbour, for the famed London department store.

The beautifully designed Christmas essential these stockings vary in patterns and colors. If Karl has his signature play of black and white then Moschino has come up with interesting pop art on red stockings.

Getting inspired by the ‘Grey’ phenomena that has swept the world off its feet in the form of 50 Shades of grey, beauty brands Estee Lauder and MAC  have released grey lipsticks this season , with the latter even launching a matching nail polish line alongside.

Estee Lauder’s grey lipstick for this fall season is called “Gunmetal” , while MAC named its fall Grey lipstick lipstick which will also be available along with a ‘Grey’ inspired nail polish set. Lime Crime, a brand often known for its off-the-beaten-path colors , had to re-release its opaque grey lipstick called Chinchilla by Popular demands.

The Estee Lauder version is more of a ‘luminizer’ rather than a dark shaded lipstick, meant to be layered over another lipstick to add a bit of shine and shimmer and ton down a super bright color making the shade look more seasonally appropriate. Grey products have mostly been limited to magazines and beauty blogs  , but looks like ‘Grey is aiming to please’ the fashion world this fall.

One of the most prestigious design schools in the world Parsons School of Design is considering its global expansion, and Mumbai is very much the part of the plan.

With more than a century of design expertise under its kitty and the heavyweights like Marc Jacobs and Proenza designers as its alumnus the institute will be opening a new academic center in Paris in fall 2013, to be followed by Mumbai and Shanghai.  The different institutes in different countries will function differently based on local regulations and local traditions.

The expansion will be having a country based model and aims at building the thread of globalization and localization into an education environment.

In a classic example of east meets west, the prestigious Mandarin Oriental hotel, Geneva, along with Princess Francoise Sturdza, invited internationally renowned fashion designer  Pria Kataaria Puri  to showcase her collections at exclusive Michelin Star Indian restaurant, The Rasoi in 2 day grand charity event – The Art of Giving !

Pria’s versatile wearable and glamorous collection is loved by Indians and Foreigners world over as she truly believes that fashion is global! She is passionate about promoting Indian art and culture with a modern twist. Be it the Kashmir Ki Kali, Bombay Glam or the Royal Rajputana Collections, all have been sported by celebrities like Madonna, Paris Hilton, Oprah Winfrey, said,Princess Francoise Sturdza, who is also Pria’s dearest friend, represents ‘Heart for India’, and had put together the magnificent 2-day extravaganza to introduce best of Indian fashion by Pria Kataaria Puri in Geneva.  Furthermore, Pria has designed and exclusive range of silk scarves which will be sold at the Heart for India website for charity.

Pria has been the ambassador for Heart for India Foundation based out of Chennai which is run by Princess Francoise, since last 3 years.

The world must be used to seeing her removing her lingerie , but burlesque star Dita Von Teese is in the mood for covering up (a bit) , as she steps into her new role of  designing a line of sexy lingerie for Debenhams .

The global fashion icon’s fashion line Von Follies which has already got a heads up  from Australia , is also being launched in UK. Being true to her signature style , the collection captures the iconic vintage feel with corsets , elaborate bustiers , ornate balcony bras , fitted chemises , high waisted briefs and garter belts. The collection combines opulent colors of red, black and nude combined with luxurious fabrics including satin with overlay.

Touches of grosgrain and velvet ribbons , delicate eyelash lace and control mesh gives the distinct line an essence of the sultry 1950’s glamour girl. With its flattering, vintage, inspired designs , it is sure to make women feel ultra glamourous.

Two lads from Delhi who forayed into swimwear in India few years back, when even most of the self-proclaimed fashionistas were oblivious about resort – have now made it to Hollywood.

The designer duo being talked about is of Shivan & Narresh who created a 1950s styled swimwear for a10 minutes long scene in the upcoming movie Life of Pi. The movie releasing on November 23, 2012 in India features a scene showing around 100 people lounging at the 50s Piscine Molitor swimming pool in Paris, donning vintage swimsuits by the duo.

The cotton swimsuits created after three months of research in 2010 are styled in the manner of 50s and feature techniques like smocking and ruching.
