Moda GoaWendell Rodricks and his love for Goa is an old story now. The designer and his reluctance to showcase at the very first India Resort Fashion Week which took place in Goa few months back spoke in length about his concern for the place. But this time around, Wendell consummates the affair by portraying Goa and its sartorial history in a way never seen before.

The designer launched his book Moda Goa: History & Style weaving a rich tapestry of history, clothing and passionate prose. With stories of people and events that shaped Goa, this stunning collection of photographs and illustrations documents, for the very first time the unique history of Goan costumes.

Wendell through his 11 years of research came up with this fitting tribute to the place where his heart has always been. The book throws light on Goa’s distinct garments style – from Buddhist drapes that carried forward the elaborate style of later Hindu costumes to the fine brocade coats of the Muslim Tughlaq rulers the book traces it through illustrations by European travellers, photographs by Mark Sequeira and India’s finest fashion photographers, and access to the fine clothing and jewellery of Goans.

The rich, young and extreme stylish look was shown in this fall by young Daniele Cavalli.

He followed the house’s tradition by using the wild and flower motifs but in a very sophisticated way. It was a very much stylish bohemian look at some stages depicting spirituality even at phases. Offcourse how can he forget to use the exotic skin which is an identity to the house, like the exotic-skin jacket in an undulating chevron pattern he compared to the back of a snake. There was a lot of energy and loudness because of the color story, starting from black to grey then electric blue, cobalt blue, violet and lime yellow. He transposed croc skin into croc patterning on a velvet smoking blazer, tiger stripes into a tonal motif on a leather bomber, leopard spots into jacquard on a jacket. He created an abstract pattern from a scan of feathers—two of which he wore around his neck.

Overall it was a newness of young Daniele trying and fitting to the house. Offcourse he has shown a lot of change in his style and structure compared o his previous collection.

In this new season once again Italo Zucchelli the creative director for Calvin Klien men’s wear stated the richness of him being Italian to his adaptability of his life in New York. A mix of leather and fabric was very much seen and it was a way to enhance sophistication of the Brand.

The black, grey and beige combination was very much effective in defining the essence of techno. Nylon parka, fireman’s poncho in nylon canvas, bomber jackets, sweatshirt and tuxedo was the major silhouette seen in the ramp. Italo proves the collection to very contemporary and keeping in mind the spirit of Calvin Klien. The ultra urban modern style with some structured ness and volume no doubt added and continued as a next chapter of the Brand’s profile. Italo brought luxury down to earth with the thick-soled loafers that are showing up everywhere as the shoe of the season. Over all Italo proves himself once again a techo urban sophisticated designer.

The new Church’s ‘Contemporary Goodyear Welted Collection’ showcased an innovative manufacturing process which transformed the traditional Church’s welted sole into a more flexible and modern one. The use of the light weight rib on the in-sole grants flexibility and instant comfort to the wearer whilst maintaining the ‘English’ resistance properties normally expected from a Church’s shoe.

The innovative contemporary Goodyear Welted Collection is obtained by a combination of special ‘oil’ treatments handmade on the sole and by sophisticated tanning process aimed at softening the leather, thus combining Church’s classical construction with a new and contemporary twist.

Styled in ‘Royal Polish’ and ‘Brushed Fume Tricolor’ in a wide range of colors: navy, wine, burgundy, dark green and smoke.
