Day 3 @ IKFW 2012The fun filled style extravaganza for little beauties, spotlighting the trendiest in the kids’ world finally culminated after three eventful days here at Intercontinental – The Lalit in Mumbai.

Amongst numerous breathtaking designs and multitude of styles making it to the ramp, PayalSinghal’s Spring Summer Occasion Wear line for little girls stood out for its little party frocks doubling up as Indian occasion wear with little churidars, dupattas and detachable neckpieces. With little girls and boys walking their way down the ramp donning hats and that shy smile, Ashima’s show came as one picture perfect dreamy land with strewn leaves on the ramp.

Day 3 @ IKFW 2012

The Last Supper Savour the best of ai one last time !! Fact Sheet: Address: ai, second floor, MGF Metropolitan Mall, District Center, Saket, N Delhi – 17. Date: 21’st jan’12 to 31’st Jan’12 Timings: Lunch : 12:30 pm to 3:00pm Dinner 6:00 pm to 11:30pm

On one hand when all the international fashion labels are busy showcasing their menswear, Fendi came up with its kid’s collection for Autumn Winter 2012/2013, keeping it classic and minimal with a carefree sophistication for the children.

The junior girls’ collection featured three styles – Minimal Chic, Funny College and Iconic Styles. The very first of them include sophisticated items designed for special occasions in blush pink, grey and black. Crafted in materials like knit fabric, washed silk creponne, velvet cotton and felt with details like round collars, jabots and contrasting black piping, the range comes as one elegant offering for kiddos.

The funny college range plays with colors like yellow, strawberry and bright blue featuring blazers with classic cut and fun logos studded with satin gold sequins. Contrasting colored borders of flared cloaks and shift dresses come along with micro dresses in knit fabrics and retro detailing like big buttons or material covered buckles. Whereas the iconic styles have beige and chocolate tones adorned with baguette embroidery. The fisherman cardigans with frog buttons, classic white shirt and cavalry trousers complete the range.

Well like the girls’ collection the boys’ one either oozes with styles. The ‘modern elegance’ is portrayed through classic blue and grey blends with cream and very light beige and a touch of Bordeaux. Polo necks in argyle prints, wool duffle coats and denim wear stand along with ‘high school trend’ range featuring the most classic school trend playing with the disenchanted street style of the new generation. The range is comprised of denim winter jackets, bomber jackets with embroidered logos, cardigans with leather buttons, punchy cargo pants and five pocket corduroy trousers. Also there are the ‘new classic styles’ apt for moments of leisure, comfort and fun. Knits with denim in country tones like beige and dark chocolate come along with purl stitch jumpers, blazers in seersucker check wool and zip-up jackets.

The last but not the least is the collection for the little ones created with delicate materials while focusing on smallest details. The classic blue meeting the bright colors appear on dresses in embroidered organza with precious touches of gold, teamed up with little coats. And for him, there are velvet outfits worn with sophisticated shirts and cardigans coming with details like wool picots, faux fur and embroidered logo patches.
The show started with a very dim light and as it brightens up we found ourselves inside a garage. The floor was made out of rubber and as the light spotted to the entry, there remains a door with graffiti. The model started to come out from there with all black outfits.

Raf Simons for Jil Sander this time choose the most difficult part of making everything that is black, which was quite opposite from Jil Sander’s colorful experimentation. The music and the atmosphere created an atmosphere of horror and darkness, such emptiness and a desire of pain. And this seems to look as a very big challenge for Simons to create something so bold. The collection has black trench coat, jacket and trouser made in complete leather, and then was double breasted tuxedo, black gloves and smart clutches for men. It even took us to the memory lane of serial killers films to be specific exactly the same repetitive force that Steve McQueen used in Shame to portray his main character’s empty serial sexual encounters.

Artiste Sharmistha RayArtiste Sharmistha Ray flaunts her exclusive range of abstract paintings with an exhibition at the Galerie Mirchandani & Steinrucke located at Colaba, Mumbai. Her paintings themed as Hidden Geographies, explores the spiritual and metaphysical conditions mused on the land of Mumbai. She walks around the city for her paintings as a site for poetical excavation. Ray has presented her creations for an exposition, solely for the first time.

The dexterous artist mines those ubiquitous symbols and signifiers that have been distilled through her experience. Her visual language combines an unconventional color palette and expressive gestural style with built-up layers of paint that is direct, emotive and visceral. Color stands as pure emotion for the lady displaying exclusive art of work while again the painterly gesture signifies the relevance of these colors on the canvas as per the understanding of Ray. The resulting meta-landscapes of Hidden Geographies are suspended in time between mythos and reality, between abstraction and it’s opposite, exposing an intimate and charged topography of the subconscious mind.

A palette displaying vivacious and pulsating colors was showcased by Sharmistha Ray’s paintings. Similarly like her paintings an effervescent list of guests was found appreciating Ray for her work. Mostly members from the art community which included Atul & Anju Dodiya, Shireen Gandhy, Farah Siddiqui,Girish Shahane, Priyasri Patodia, Shilpa Gupta, Rajiv Saini, Brinda Miller, Kahini Arte Merchant. Also present were Cecilia Morelli with husband Rohan Parikh, Ashiesh Shah, Alex Kuruvilla, Bakul Patel, Pheroza Godrej, Krsna Mehta came as her spectators.

Blenders Fashion Resource 2012The ‘little black book’ of Indian fashion orb, Blenders Pride Fashion Resource Book has augmented its interest with the launch of its first calendar at the beginning of this year.

The calendar instigated as Blenders Pride Fashion Resource Book (BPFRB) Calendar 2012 is titled after its signature name. The calendar foretells a fashion chart for each season which plays an accord with its color palette. From the bluish tones of icy cold months of December and January to the marigold yellows that herald the arrival of spring, each of the months has a set mood-board. The unique FRB calendar takes its cues from the sole sartorial epithet," Style – Unfettered’- a concept that handpicks and unveils a color for every month of the year and then amalgamates it well with hi- octane glam outfits of the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour ‘11’s stylish band of designers. The most amazing verity about the calendar is its incredible match of designers like Neeta Lulla, Rocky S, Wendell Rodricks, Rahul Khanna & Rohit Gandhi, Manidra Wirk and Raakesh Agarvwal who have contributed their collection for the calendar launch. The signature imagination of these designers drawn into pieces is well showcased in this fashion calendar.
