There was an emotional and visual change in the city of Milan in this month of June during this men’s fashion week. Suddenly the streets got metropolitan and super urban and fashionable. You feel there is a new enigma in the city.

This season of spring summer 2012 added some new mystery all around the city. There was David Gandy the famous English super model, who is the front face for Dolce and Gabbana. The 2009 forbes magazine ranked Gandy as the world’s third most successful male model, behind Matt Gordon and Sean O’Pry. He was there in the Dolce and Gabbana presentation with his vintage Triumph car, he signed off T-shirts and perfume store glasses. It was a magnificent occasion of fan driving crazy.

In the Missoni show I captured Anna Della Russo the Editor of Vogue Japan. She spent 18 years at Condé Nast Italia as Fashion Editor at Vogue Italia and serving as Editor of L’Uomo Vogue from 2000-2006. She is one of the most fashionable lady in the current time.

Gianluca Cantaro was there in almost every show and why not … being the editor of L’Uomo Vogue Italia. He is capturing all the news and forecast of the upcoming season of Spring Summer 2012. He believes in capturing even in the minute change and happening in the men’s world. Hope he can capture the best in the men’s world. Later, I discovered Jesse Williams the super model from Grey’s Anatomy in the front row of Roberto Cavalli. He was in an amusing mood with a glass of white wine.

Never the less there was many other famous and distinctive appearance in this fashion week. And now we can conclude from here, wait and watch what happens in the women’s fashion week.

Want to complain regarding an obscene or fraudulent advertisement? You can dial 1800222724. You have to give the TV channel or newspaper’s name, date of appearance, and other details and register a complaint and actions will be taken immediately either to modify or withdraw the advertisement.

Advertising Standard Council of India (ASCI) the apex regulatory body of advertising industry has launched a national campaign to uproot the evil of misleading, dishonest and indecent advertisements.

Through this movement, the ASCI aims to encourage masses and responsible Indian citizens to report any kind of dishonest or misleading advertisements of any advertiser across all categories.

In recent years, the quantity of false, misleading and offensive advertising has resulted in consumers having an increasing disbelief in advertising, and a growing resentment of it. “Misleading false advertisement also constitutes unfair competition. It could lead to market-place disasters or even litigation,” reveals Alan Collaco, secretary general of the ASCI.

“If this kind of advertising continues, it won’t be long before statutory regulations and procedures will be imposed that will make even fair, truthful, decent advertising cumbersome if not impossible. This certainly will affect the ability to compete and grow for India as a nation,” signed off Collaco.

10 Most Controversial Ads –

Dolce and Gabbana
A highly suggestive ad by fashion designers Dolce and Gabbana was banned from Italian publications. The advertisement showed a woman pinned to the ground by the wrists by a bare-chested man, with other men in the background looking on. It offended the dignity of the woman.

Girbaud Fashion House
‘The Last Supper’ ad by Girbaud Fashion House was banned by a tribunal in Paris because it offended Roman Catholics. The work however was a photograph based on a painting, not the Bible. There was nothing in it that is offensive to the Catholic religion.

Levi’s
The Levi’s ‘Lead Me Into Temptation’ campaign raised the heckles of Christians who were affronted by the use of a Biblical sounding slogan and Jesus Christ’s nude imagery for commercial purposes.

MR Coffee
Malaika Arora had met future husband Arbaaz Khan while both were shooting for an ad for MR Coffee. The ad, due to its sexual overtones, generated quite a controversy. Even Amul came up with a parody ad around it.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)
An animal rights poster showing Baywatch actress Pamela Anderson in a bikini with her body parts marked as pieces of meat was banned by authorities in Montreal. The ad for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) said ‘All animals have the same parts. Have a heart. Go vegetarian.’

VIP Frenchie X
An ad for VIP Frenchie X underwear showed a girl entering a room to find a young man in his underwear was also deemed obscene.

Calida (Swiss innerwear)
Bipasha Basu and her ex-boyfriend Dino Morea got cozy for an ad for Swiss underwear brand Calida. The image of Morea tugging Basu’s panty with his teeth had a caption ‘And you thought your appetite for indulgence could only be whetted by Swiss chocolates.’

KamaSutra
Pooja Bedi played a hot game of chess and had a steamy shower with Marc Robinson while Viveka Babajee and Inder Sudan went wild under a waterfall, all to sell condoms appropriately branded – Kamasutra. The same issue of Debonair magazine that had the ad sold out in a matter of days.

Lux Cozy
The Ministry had issued orders banning Lux Cozy ad with a tagline ‘Apna Luck Pehen Ke Chalo’. The lucky scantily clad man in the ad is ogled at and gets a peck on the cheek by a grateful female in bikini for finding her lost dog.

Tuff Shoes
Milind Soman and his ex-girlfriend Madhu Sapre posed nude in a print ad for Tuff Shoes. Creatively it was ahead of its time, but it was considered as an act that could corrupt society’s moral values. The case lasted for 14 years, after which the courts acquitted the accused.

It all started way back in 1994 with Swedish high street brand, H&M collaborating with Karl Lagerfeld for a diffusion line and the likes of Roberto Cavalli, Stella McCartney, Jimmy Choo and Lanvin followed the order. Now recently Versace shook hands with the fashion major for its Autumn Winter 2011 line.

The collection which will hit the stores from 17 November and will be followed by a pre spring collection will include menswear, womenswear, accessories and homewear for H&M. Ranging from 50 to 70 pounds for dresses and 10 pounds for accessories will offer 40 pieces for women and 20 for men.

Donatella Versace, Creative Director, Versace said, “I am thrilled to be collaborating with H&M and to have the opportunity of reaching its wide audience. The collection will be quintessential Versace, perfect for H&M and Versace fans everywhere.”

The collaboration also includes Versace designing pre spring collection for H&M which will be available online from 19 january next year.

Former Dior Creative Director, John Galliano who was charged with racist and anti-semitic abuse faced trial in Paris for rascist insults against three people.

The British Fashion Designer, said he was taking a “lethal” mix of alcohol and prescription drugs at the time of the events, which prompted his dismissal from Dior in March after 15 years as creative director and also caused him to lose control of his signature fashion house.

The designer who was in rehab after the infamous café brawl confessed in the packed court room, “I started to have panic attacks and anxiety attacks, and I couldn’t go to work without taking Valium. My body was becoming so used to the pills, so my intake increased to an amount where I can’t actually remember how many I was taking. Sometimes I was taking sleeping pills during the day.”

Closing the arguments between two sides, public prosecutor handling the case called for a fine of no less than 10,000 euros, or $14,300 at current exchange for the designer whereas Galliano’s lawyer called for him to be acquitted. The court will deliver its ruling on Sept 8.

Calvin Klein presented its Spring Summer 2012 menswear collection in Milan taking inspiration from the effortless ease and functionality of classic American sportswear, using clean modern fabrics with ultra high tech surfaces and treatments.

Calvin Klein’s Men’s Creative Director Italo Zucchelli described the collection as the confluence of color, proportion and textures. The energetic, athletic and multi-dimensional collection displayed new shapes and iconic details.

Contrasted proportions executed on clean, extremely textured surfaces, the rounded shoulder detail of t shirts and jackets, the classically styled trench, an iconic bomber jacket, and a Harrington, each designed in double bonded, matte finish and cotton twills for high definition and modern styling formed the silhouettes of the collection. Other pieces include elongated shorts falling just below the knee and Tuxedo in monochrome blanc or onyx, with a debossed lapel and pant seam.

Fresh, cool shades of white with streaks of citronella yellow and cerulean blue brought a balanced source of bright light to the color palette of sterling, grey mist, herron, and silt. Over-dyed treatments created saturated colors while graphic prints on a base of sterling or grey added a fresh perspective.

The entire Spring 2012 menswear by the brand was brilliantly done with modern fabrics with ultra high tech surfaces, either matte or shiny. Unexpected treatments on classic American fabrications: bonded leathers, resin suedes, waxed jerseys, stonewashed cottons, debossed nylons, and extreme piques lent a different charm to the collection. Semi-transparent mesh or laser cut nylon appeared on jackets, polos and t shirts. Waxed, distressed and polished denims updated a traditional five pocket jean silhouette, t shirt and tank top.
