The ebullient and fun loving Hida Siddiqui is another girl from Delhi who recently grabbed many dazed eyeballs at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion week. It was two years back this hottie landed on the ramp with her head high and chin talking to stars. Since then she has been a part of many fashion weeks and walked for almost every big name. So we talked to Hida Siddiqui to know more about her journey as a model.

Tell us briefly about yourself?
Ummmm……I belong to Delhi and have grown up in protected family environment. I am Virgo so I keep seeking for more in my life. I believe one must keep trying and achieving his dreams being himself. I am high spirited and friendly and love to live my life in my way.

How you bumped into your first assignment?
It was two years back that I met a photographer acquaintance of mine, Rony Kaula. I don’t know but Rony found potential in me to be a good model and he encouraged me for modeling. I got my portfolio done and my first modeling assignment came within the weeks and very soon I was called to be the part of an advertisement for Aaj-Tak. It was really a good start for me.

What was your parents’ reaction when you decided to be a model?
They were quite apprehensive as they were not sure of the career. But later when I started getting work they acknowledged my decision and now they are really happy with where I am.

Which projects have you graced with your presence?
I have had done umpteen shoots and print advertisements for the likes of Provogue, Monte Carlo, Tanishq Jewellery, Ozone and many more.

What do you think of bollywood as a career option?
It’s great only if I get a good platform and banner to work with.

When not modeling what are you most likely to be found doing?
I will say working out in a gym and music are my favorite time pass besides spending time with my family and friends.

What has been most touching moment of your life?
Nothing specific as every moment in life has something special or touching to it. I simply can’t prioritize my moments.

What’s your take on the modeling industry in India?
I think this is a big industry and there is space for everyone here. If you are good then you will find good work or good work will find you.

What are the essentials to be a good model?
Good Networking Skills, Patience, Hard Work, Good Body, Right Attitude, confidence and Determination.

Your beauty and fitness regime?
Drink loads of water. Be happy and enjoy your life.

This coming Wednesday, November 10th, we will kick up our heels in celebration of the annual Country Music Awards, set to air on ABC.  As hearts go aflutter and admiring fans swoon to the likes of the evening’s hosts, country western superstars Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, it is perhaps the dazzling vocal stylings of one Gwyneth Paltrow, the famed actress and wife of Coldplay’s front man Chris Martin, that have created more than an earful of buzz in anticipation of the event.  Paltrow, whose debut musical role came in 2000 with the release of the movie Duets, directed by Paltrow’s late father, Bruce Paltrow, and costarring Huey Lewis and Paul Giamatti, left moviegoers in shock and awe upon hearing the soulful lyrics of the actress in the movie’s lead songs, Cruisin’ and Betty Davis Eyes.

Paltrow’s appearance and accompanying performance at the Country Music Awards will hit the stage this coming Wednesday less than two months before the release of her new film, Country Song.  The movie, a gritty and heartfelt look at rising beauty queen-turned-country music legend Kelly Canter, has put Paltrow on a pedestal in a role that is being compared to the majestic performances of Jamie Foxx and Joaquin Phoenix in Ray and Walk the Line, respectively, signifying the brilliance of Paltrow’s adaptation.  Although Country Song doesn’t hit theaters until January 7th, 2011, whispers of “Oscar” are already passing between lips for both Paltrow and her movie costars, Garrett Hedlund and Tim McGraw.

But, the London-rooted Paltrow doesn’t stop there.  She is slated to sing again on the November 16th airing of Glee on Fox, where she will pop in for a short cameo at McKinley High with Glee Club coach Will Schuester for a funky, updated version of Singin’ in the Rain.  It is no wonder that the accomplished Hollywood superstar, singer, wife, and mother-of-two, is so much more than just another Tinsel Town beauty with bright eyes and a sparkling smile, she embodies nothing short of true talent.  With Golden Gwyneth and Country Song on the horizon, it’s hard not to think that the best is yet to come.

Stylish, modern and refreshingly new, Van Heusen revealed its Women’s Collection. Boasting of designs with cleaner lines, shapes and forms that breathe easy, the collection continues to remain faithful to its traditional shades. The soft and solid pastel tones add a delightful Fall-Winter feeling to the collection, with ‘Teal Mustard, Navy Story’ & ‘The Green Story’ being the key highlights from Van Heusen Women.

Bold geometric prints, offset with ochre accents defines the Teal Mustrad and story quite assertively. The collection interprets graphic lens, rearranges graphic units to form interesting shapes and patterns that simply make the wearer the centre of attention. Teal and mustard emerge as front-runners for popular, splashy colors. Not just separate, but together as a bold mix in patterns and accessories. The end result, a bolder and confident looking you.

Whereas The Green Story consists of emerald, jade, jewelled, foliage, leaf or acid collection. An emerald and black check double-breasted jacket with pleated black pants or a graphic tent dress with a black trench talks about two key looks that are bound to raise mercury levels by a few notches, if not more. Use several shades of green for a fresh, breezy feeling. The predominant colour this season is green which is vivid and lush when in solid, and spectacular when offset with prints in greys and blacks.

Timeless glamour meets colour combination par excellence:  Teal Mustard, Navy Gray and Bold Green create excellent gala evening jackets of several shapes and lengths. Slim trousers, shirts rich in elegant details, cocktail dresses and sweaters with soft drapes with a graphic look ensure you are the toast of every evening.
