This September Christie’s will immortalize the relationship between international fashion icon Isabella Blow and designer Alexander McQueen by auctioning off an extraordinary wardrobe.

The auction, which will feature over 90 McQueen outfits, underscores the exceptional eye for style of the late Ms.Blow, who committed suicide in 2007, and the skill of the designer whom she championed from the beginning of his career.  He also took his own life earlier this year in February.

Blow, one of the most unforgettable and eccentric figures of fashion, is credited with discovering Alexander McQueen when she bought his entire Saint Martins College of Art and Design graduation collection for 5,000 pounds.

50 hats from milliner Philip Treacy, pieces by John Galliano, and shoes by Manolo Blahnik will also be part of the auction.

Patricia Frost, director of Fashion and Textiles at Christie’s, told the New York Times: “What we have is unique. It shows that McQueen really deserves his place in fashion history and that Isabella was there before anyone else, she saw what was good so far ahead of the game.”

The sale, from the Blow estate on behalf of her family, will be held by the auction house in London, South Kensington.  A coffee table tribute book published by Thames and Hudson will accompany the auction.

Fashion is sacred to this Mumbai based fashion & accessory designer with her label Nautanki by Carina. Her designs expel some innovative and altering style definition bags. Carina Advani launched her label in 2009 as a vent for her passion for fashion.

After completing her B.Com degree, Carina tried her hands at Graphic Design and then proceeded on to something that would satisfy her creative instincts and pursued Fashion & Accessory Designing.

The name Nautanki came into existence with the quest for something out of the ordinary and still should be a reflection of Carina’s sensibilities as she says, “What is life without a little drama”. To her Fashion has never been about just the clothes and ever since Carina wanted to do everything from apparel, handbags, shoes to jewelry.

She uses a lot of faux-leather along with others like cotton, canvas, jacquard, satin, silk, velvet, suede and PVC and loves playing around with colours, prints and texturesfor her bags. With minimalist outlook whether in bags, shoes, jewellery or even apparel her designs are more modern than traditional but with an ideal mix of the two. Her bags include everything from clutches to totes and hobos. Carina’s latest collection is completely designed for the summers; bright colours and prints dominate the entire line.

Her designs were featured in leading dailies, merely 9 days after she started supplying to my first store, Creo at Warden Road. Currently she supply to stores in Mumbai and Pune. For her Fashion fades only style remains the same.

After being absent from the Venice of the North for over almost a century, Cartier opened its first Saint Petersburg boutique on the banks of the Moyka River, a tributary of the Neva, whose rippling sheen is reflected on the façade of 55 Naberezhnaya Reki Moyka.

The private mansion whose facade set in hues of red, white and bronze matches the bichrome tradition of the historic buildings of Saint Petersburg. A nocturne in three movements, the inauguration began with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner at the Mikhailovsky Castle and then a nighttime cruise on the Neva River.

The American actress Demi Moore, straight from Hollywood, appeared arm-in-arm with the President and CEO of Cartier International, Bernard Fornas.

Bernard Fornas, the President and CEO of Cartier International, received his guests at this fortress erected by Paul I for a gala dinner that was preceded by a private concert under the baton of Maestro Valery Gergiev. Landscape architect Louis Benech created a formal garden at the entry of the castle especially for the occasion. More than 300 guests included Alexander, the Crown Prince of Yugoslavia (a great-grandson of Grand Duchess Pavlona) and his wife, Katherine, the Crown Princess of Yugoslavia.

Following dinner, guests boarded a boat for an enchanted cruise along the Neva River.
