Jooal, a destination for rare, unique and coloured gemstones set in fine exquisite pieces of jewellery announced the launch of a signature collection of pendants featuring letters in Sanskrit.

Having participated in several charity projects over the years, the present range of jewellery is an extension of their association with Pratham, a UNICEF initiative started in 1994, working with the mission to erase illiteracy amongst India’s 100 million under privileged children.

Jooal displayed pieces are based on letters of the alphabet in Sanskrit where the signature collection features pendants set in white gold encrusted with diamonds. And the larger limited edition pieces used uniquely carved gemstones with white gold and diamond.

Proceeds for Pratham from each pendant in the signature collection could either fund a program to educate 180 children for an entire year in nine villages or buy three Pratham libraries covering 450 children or rescue 30 children from the street, work and exploitative conditions or provide education, medical care and nutrition to a street child for one year. Pendants in the signature collection are priced at 390 pounds. Prices from the limited edition collection vary depending on the gemstones used.

Faisal Joo, founder and Creative Director has handpicked each gemstone himself with careful consideration to social and environmental issues. Upon meeting Reita Godkari, Pratham UK trustee, Faisal felt that he wanted to do a special project with Pratham and the collection that he unveils today is the materialization of the same initiative.
