Payal Jain raises the curtain over an exotic range of evening wear collection radiating with the hues and grains of twilight. Inspired from the most magical hour of the day described by poets, writers, painters and artist for centuries in all its whims and fancies the range witnesses the day dissolving.

The fabric ranges from magical and floating chiffons, georgettes, silks and jerseys which transcend into soft, draped, layers and pleated silhouettes gently hugging the curves of the feminine form.  There is fine pin-tucking, hand done pleating, dramatic draping and sculptural scrunching to enhance the shear suppleness of hues which blend into the tones of twilight. The collection is designed with minimal, subtle and delicate cutworks thread embroidery and texurization in forms of layering, ruching, ribbing and gathering are accentuated by tiny sparkles, like stars in the mysterious sky.

The brilliance of black finally encompasses all with structured, strong silhouettes such as dresses, jackets, skinny pants, and stirrups. The enchanting twilight peeps through the heavily draped cowls, bias cut tunics, pin tucked shells, pleated and draped dresses, long flowing shifts with subtle embroideries and hints of sparkling glass crystals.

Sum it up this winter as there is an appeal for asymmetry & sculpture, laces & velvet, bark brown & midas gold and padded shoulders & zippers. Working out the finer details for this Fall Winter 09 -10 we are ready to charge up your wardrobe with knee length sculpted shift dresses, flowing jumpsuits, ankle length trench coats, biker jackets in sexy aubergine and if you love colour as much as we do, colour burst is the trend for you. Whether you make it mod, architectural, or even preppy, this trend turns boring basics into fun, instantly. This fall, look for pieces that combine unexpected colours in bold shapes for a new take on this dynamic season.

The hemline pronounces an easy shift between ankle length and mid thigh length paired with a coat whose length is in near competition with your dress. Waist line is definitely much above the original waistline and no trespassing has been noticed so far and so forth, the easily noticeable power laden stand-alone collars and extra padded outwardly protruding shoulders joins the front.

Lacing detail catches the thoroughfare with Nitin Bal Chauhan’s over exceptional black jumpsuit held together from falling apart by fabric cords and velvet piping. Ranna Gill joins the league with patch work in different dimension with fused fabric patches and skin show only through random peep holes on sleeves and leggings. The laces created a mesh with RIDZYN and the pretty feminine laces surfaces in the creations of Rina Dhaka and Bian.

As the fashion rolls, winters have brought a host of high waist trousers with the rough and tough look and zipper with multi chain detailing. Gaurav Gupta has paired his grey pants with flowing zipper lines Madras check jacket in poncho silhouette. And Puja Nayar, Prashant Varma, Manish Malhotra interpret her in the more traditional style adding the sexy edge.

This season also welcomes a lot of padding, quilting and truponto details that gain prominence in the creations of JJ Valaya, Pankaj & Nidhi, Virtues and Rahul & Gunjan.

Formalwear has a comparatively more relaxed silhouette but still not messing up with the orthodox pencil skirts, white satin shirts and thin belts. The shoulders in this section are not that broad and silhouette a little flowy rather than being sculpted. Though here again the spark of eccentricity is added with asymmetrical details. Cue by Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna brings to the ramp his working woman dressed in a jacket dress that has right panel longer than the other and forms a cowl at the hemline.

The cold grey brown winter canvas experiences colour therapy in Sonam Dubal’s quilted shawls, Manish Arora’s jungle crew, Rehane’s contrast coloures pocketed shift dresses and Namrata Joshipura’s flower power mid-thigh length jacket.
