In the late nineties when Pashmina became a global fad, Shilu Kumar of Pashma embarked on a journey satisfying her obsession for cashmere by setting up a small workshop on the outskirts of Delhi. Her curiosity to explore the traditional Indian weaving art hung around her high design sensibilities to ferry the name Pashma on international platform.

Shilu always had a vision to cement a place for India textile art forms in the global luxury sphere. So she passionately started producing cashmere wraps of the finest quality that were reminiscent of bygone era by taking inspiration from extraordinary opulent lifestyle of Indian royalty and keeping emphasis on luxury, quality and art.

Over all these years Pashma has turned out to be global brand and having had shows at  Tranoi (Paris), Whose Next (Paris), The Train (New York), Living Rooms (Tokyo) and the Milano Vende Moda (Milan). Finally, ‘Pashma’ treads home ground with its first showing in India at the Delhi Fashion Week in 2009.

Pashma is a unique expression of classical textile art forms interpreted with contemporary Milanese sensibilities. Today, Pashma’s product range has expanded far beyond cashmere shawls to include a luxurious range of Knitwear and home accessories made from cashmere and cashmere blends. Its assortment also includes a range of sophisticated high quality resortwear known as Petanu.

Pashma’s philosophy is governed by creating articles of timeless appeal and extraordinary quality that have artistic merit as opposed to conforming to fashion trends. Its outlook remains staunchly individualistic much like its target individualistic customers who view fashion as an expression of their own distinctive sensibilities.

The Pashma collection is sold at premium stores worldwide that include Isetan, Japan, Acquagirl, Japan, Fred Segal, LA, Henri Bendel, New York, Le Bon Marche, Paris among many others. In India, Pashma is retailed through Ogaan, New-Delhi, Ensemble, Mumbai and Delhi, Bombay Electric, Mumbai, Aza, Mumbai and Delhi, Collage, Chennai and Ffolio, Bangalore.
