Interestingly, they owe their fascination with fine-flowing lines to…

A designer who interprets Indian textile traditions in a bold and modern signature…

She likes to call herself a ‘textile and dress maker’ and what fascinates…

Wendell Rodricks is not just your average fashion designer; he is the Jack of all trades and master of many. The multi-talented designer`s work includes not only designing clothes but also writing, theatre design, advertising styling and forecast portfolios!

Rodricks began his career in fashion after a successful tenure in hotel management. Trained in Los Angeles and Paris, he returned to India in 1988. Wendell is among the few designers who are obsessed with Indian fashion. His art designs truly reflect the inspiration drawn from ancient India. Simple cuts and perfectly conceived light and fluid attires are his forte. One can be sure that his clothes would be easy to carry, yet give that elegant look that one aspires to have. His aim, to create a place for Goa in the world map of fashion, has been triumphant only because of his sheer hard work and successful fashion shows. Tarun Tahiliani is the designer who is absolutely in love with everything that is Indian and has reincarnated fashion for India in his textiles, drapes of sarees, contemporary chkankari, widely embellished fabrics with beads and semi precious stones. His work is often encapsulated in burst of colours and glittering garments that focuses luxury and oomph. Over the years he has draped in opulence innumerable gorgeous women around the globe and is also responsible for leading the direction in which fashion Industry today is scaling heights.

The first time Tarun got a glimpse of the fashion world was way back in 1980s when his sister chanced to walk the ramp for a Pierre Cardin’s show and it was thus decided that fashion was where Tarun wanted to be. Having finished a business degree at the Wharton School of Business University of Pennsylvania, Tarun was bored of selling machines tools and oil field equipments in Bombay (as it was called back then). It was at this time that Ensemble, the fashion boutique was born in an old warehouse of machine tools, in Fort, Mumbai 1987, the first multi brand store in India. He also set up his own design studio in Mumbai where he used to work at nights and sell oil field equipments during the day. Then Tarun went to study a crash course at the Fashion Institute of technology, New York. And finally he set up his design studio in New Delhi in 1995 as he thought this was where the nerve centre of fashion would eventually be.
