The sixth edition of the most sought after collectors’ items, the iconic collaboration between the Swiss International Airlines and designer Narendra Kumar is back with a bang with its 2014/2015 Calendar. With the unique theme of ‘Swiss Hospitality’, the calendar launch was held in Mumbai attended by an enthusiastic amount of glitterati guests.

Speaking of the theme of the calendar, Switzerland has been known for its excellent residential services and high-quality hospitality, with respect to both its air lines and its classic hotel management. Therefore, the chosen theme is appropriate and a fascinating way to exhibit Switzerland’s warm and legendary treatment of its guests and its remarkable landscape.

Meanwhile, shot by the talented and experienced photographer Prasad Naik, the calendar features none other than the hard working Swiss cabin crew members as its models gracefully attired in Narendra Kumar’s grandeur couture collection: a bold and effective way to step away from the clichéd professional models and Bollywood celebrities.

Besides, showing their willing support, sparkling at the event were the crème de la crème of the city like Indu and Ranjit Shahani, Deveika and Suresh Bhojwani, Amrita Puri, Shivani Wazir, Parveen Dusanj, Parvez Damania, Kunika Singh, Dilshad Khambata, Ivana Perovic, Ramesh Chauhan and Anil Chopra amongst others.

Well, this six year collaboration between the Swiss airlines and Narendra Kumar, has displayed some exuberant views, elegant styling and Swiss hospitality in a never seen before version, thereby representing the essential needs of today’s global citizen: luxury, class, elegance and sophistication.

Debutante designer Laila Singh’s exquisite jewellery collection under her high end fashion label ‘Social Butterfly’ is an eclectic mix of traditional techniques in contemporary aestheticism. Replete of chained neck pieces, rings, cuffs, hand accessories and bracelets in precious and semi precious stones and gold, the collection draws its beautiful mystic inspiration from the magnificent dancing peacock and it’s vibrant hued colours.

Moreover, the wearabiliry of the collection is multi dimensional, enriching the look of every garment with which it would be carried. With close attention paid to careful detailing to produce a unique design for every new creation, the designer enthusiastically looks forward to showcase the same at the Lakme Fashion Week 2014, to enthrall the on lookers with a novel one of a kind jewellery experience.

Sam Taylor-Johnson’s photographic exhibition of 45 photographs captures the private rooms of Mademoiselle Chanel private apartment at 31 Rue Cambon in Paris, Second Floor, will open at Saatchi Gallery in London on Friday 12th September 2014 until Monday 22nd September.

“Shooting at Coco Chanel’s apartment was an unexpectedly absorbing experience,” says Taylor-Johnson. “The essence of Chanel is firmly rooted there in all of her possessions and I truly believe that her spirit and soul still inhabits the second floor.”

The photographs illustrate the numbers, patterns, colours and emblematic animals that are synonymous with Mademoiselle Chanel’s creative vocabulary.

Mademoiselle’s apartment provides an atmosphere, which, is both personal and mysterious and is a testament to her modern style. “The apartment is beautifully stylish. It feels like she had meticulously chosen every object, “says Sam Taylor-Johnson.

Starting from the hallowed mirrored staircase leading up to the apartment, the Turner Prize nominee has captured this intimate world, artfully immortalizing objects and furniture that were so treasured by Mademoiselle Chanel.

The Melbourne spring Fashion Week proudly announces the beautiful Ashley Hart as its ambassador for 2014.

An effective platform for the emerging and enthusiastic designers, MSFW exhibits collections from students of fashion colleges around Victoria.
