Like every December when Pantone – the unclaimed worldwide standard for color communication – launches it’s ‘Color of the Year’ for 2013. And it’s Emerald Green.

The color Pantone declares every year kind of dictates the art and design scene across the world. Like last year the splashes of tangerine tango (its Color for 2012) were everywhere right from the runway to beauty products to textiles. So expect the glint of emerald green in your eyes this 2013.

Connoting the color as lively, radiant, lush, vivid, verdant green Pantone attributes the color to enhance our sense of well-being by inspiring insight as well promoting balance and harmony.
The press release issued by the company mentioned about emerald colored Pantone-Sephora beauty collection to be released in Spring Summer 2013. It also cited the spring 2013 collections of Tracy Reese, Nanette Leopre and Marimekko with loads of emerald green.

Now its declared that Pantone 17-5641 emerald is the ‘it’ color for coming year but you might be wondering how the color is finalized when ramps are deluged with different hues. Well, the color influences around the world including the films in production, travelling art collections, new artists, new textures and sports events are considered to finally select the hottest color of the year.
Apart from Pantone companies like Sherwin Williams named midcentury-tinged blue called Aloe as color for 2013. And for Benjamin Moore its Lemon Sorbet – the ‘it’ color of next year.
