“Everyday is a fashion show and the world is your runway” Coco Chanel. Why not? Even if it means working from our home offices, if that is our world for now so be it. It is our world in which we conduct work, meetings, conferences, data analysis or dealing with our clients……

Dressing up is not merely for those for whom you are visible on their desktops but more so for ourselves and to be our better selves, so drop the pyjamas (although they are in trend) and up your game.

Slouching on the couch with your PJ’s and a laptop will never guarantee to extract the best out of us. Our minds will find it difficult to draw the line if we are actually working or binge watching our favorite Netflix series because we fail to pronounce to our minds through our attitude whether it’s serious work time or chill time. Remember ‘clothes maketh a man’.

It is not an option to be well put together but in fact Dressing up is one of the prime and foremost steps to enhance our mood and channel our minds for a productive day ahead.

It’s not called ‘smart dressing’ for nothing, it’s all about feeling up and feeling good sans the hunch. Jackets and dress shirts demand a certain posture and attitude which in turn transforms our mood and mindset into feeling, YOU MEAN BUSINESS.

It’s actually a situation where you can enjoy the best of both the worlds of not having to go too formal to losing the comfort value neither way too casual as to forgetting the seriousness of your job. The way you dress up is a reminder of the job/ tasks you have set for the day. Your regular casual home clothes will pull you into a dull or a procrastinating mode since one is in the same kind of clothes all day long.

There are many ways to make your work-from-home attire smart and comfy, like a wrap dress in a soft flowy fabric will bring the perfect amalgamation of looking super chic yet extremely comfortable to get you through your work, meetings as well as your home chores like a breeze. And in case your office didn’t allow jeans, it’s time to rule in them, club it with printed silk button down shirts as opposed to the regular solid colored ones or team up a blazer with a breathable cotton T- shirt and your favorite pair of jeans.

Throw a blazer on your lovely spaghetti top with a soft well fitted ankle length leggings or jeggings.

A linen or a cotton jacket/shrug with a silk satin slip dress you can also pull out the sober yet elegant pair of mules you didn’t get an occasion to wear.

Gear up for your online meetings with a smart dress shirt layered with an accented waist coat to break the monotony or a super chic option of a flared/A-line/ pleated (think Gucci) skirt teamed with a waist coat in colors of similar tones in contrast to your regular comfort stealing pencil skirt and jacket look.

Also, it is time to bring out those bright hues from your wardrobe which otherwise we would hesitate to wear to office, yes….we can get a bit bold and pop those colors in ties and scarfs and other pieces. Color never ceases to lighten up the mood and make Face-times more lively. Whereas if you are fond of neutral shades then bring out those statement neck pieces for high neck tops or buttoned-up shirts whiles making impressionable presentations, says Mr. Mukund Rai, faculty of ITM Institute for Design and Media.

It’s all about well ventilated fabrics for your comfort put together with smart and chic silhouettes to kick in that positivity. he adds further.

Of course don’t you forget the perfume though invisible is still part of your clothing and will go a long way in being more productive and lifting your spirits.
