Bling somehow qualifies to be the metallic shiny effect in an ensemble. And this glittering trend finds its roots during70’s, when shiny elements were a big hit with the actors, pop and rock stars. Even today, how close we have travelled to minimalism, sobriety and subtlety but fashion still shines bright.

The recently concluded VHIMW 2011 saw Shantanu & Nikhil, showcasing their ‘Bandhagala’ in silk with a paisley print, Troy Costa’s one button shawl collar suit and Arjun Khanna’s trench coat with a lot of glitter for men.
Even though the velvet dinner jacket has been a revived sartorial staple in men’s wardrobes for quite a few seasons but its presence is consequential as the sophistication and class it exudes, it’s unparalleled. On the international runways, Dolca & Gabbana, Canali and Tom Ford are few names who presented their glittery men’s collection.
