The Haberdashery in MumbaiThe concept of signature experiential haberdashery store embraced the city of Mumbai with the launch of ‘The Hab’ by Usha at Linking Road in Bandra, of late.

This first of its kind store in India opened with an aim of making sewing a trendy concept offers the best in sewing with multiple choices in accessories like buttons, borders, zippers, beads, embellishments, threads, do-it-yourself kits and other miscellaneous items. The store also displays the best of the Usha Janome automatic sewing and embroidery machines with a team of sewing experts to guide one through the process of sewing and customising.

The store with well-planned interiors boasts of a signature window installation at the entrance, designed by the internationally acclaimed Indian designer Manish Arora. About which the designer said, “The installation is inspired by the vibrant colours of the playful festival of Holi and symbolises energy. Its bursts of colour and vibrant motifs are inspired by the annual Jaipur Elephant Festival, accentuated using a mix of sequins, buttons, heart shapes and different coloured water guns.”

The launch of the very first such store in Mumbai, which will later be opened in other cities saw the who’s who of the city making it to the event.
