The Kolkata based fashion label Ekru by Ekta & Ruchira saw the unveiling of its second flagship store in the city of Kolkata lately.The store launch came with showcasing of the couture collection of Ekta & Ruchira featuring traditional Indian silhouettes like kalidar, angrakha, lehanga and choli with twist. Rich fabrics like brocade, velvet, silk and benarasi weaves are intertwined together with embellishments, textures and detailing.
The store is around 3000 square feet and is aesthetically done up by renowned sculptor, Narayan Sinha. His installations share the rail space with Ekru’s creations. Moreover, the store is adorned by antiquated photographs, mirrors, urns sketches, chandeliers, benches, lamps and urns.
The evening saw the famous dancer Tanusree Shankar lighting the lamps. The event was well attended by who’s who of the city including Madhu Neotia, Shalini Karnani, Designer duo Dev R Nil, Designer Sharbari Dutta, Preeti Aggarwal, Swaroop Dutta and many more.
