A soiree dedicated to masculine elegance: Chopard kicked off its festive activities at the Cannes Film Festival with its traditional Gentlemen’s Evening. This prestigious event celebrating the Maison’s watch collections was organised at the joint invitation of Co-Presidents Caroline and Karl-Friedrich Scheufele on the Chopard Rooftop, specially decorated to recreate the atmosphere of an English club. It was honoured by the attendance of numerous guests including legendary racing drivers and official Chopard Ambassadors Jacky Ickx and Romain Dumas, both brilliantly personifying the gentlemen for whom Chopard timepieces are intended. Pop-soul band Kimberose set the vibe for this memorable occasion of the Cannes fortnight.

It has become a tradition that each edition of the Cannes Film Festival, to which Chopard has been an official partner for 25 years, sees the Chopard Rooftop host an evening for gentlemen gathered on La Croisette. Organised at the joint invitation of Co-Presidents, Caroline and Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, the event celebrates the watchmaking expertise cultivated by the Maison’s artisans and embodied in the L.U.C. collection – which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year – as well as the Alpine Eagle and Mille Miglia.

The Chopard Rooftop, whose panoramic terrace offers breathtaking views across the bay of Cannes, featured a warm, cosy decorative theme reminiscent of English clubs. Executive chefs Arnaud Faye of La Chèvre d’Or restaurant (Meilleur Ouvrier de France) and Christian Sinicropi of La Palme d’Or restaurant were in charge of the cuisine. Their dishes were accompanied by Monestier Latour wines (from Karl-Friedrich Scheufele’s vineyard in Bergerac) and Perrier-Jouët “Blanc de blancs” champagne. Guests also had an opportunity to enjoy cocktails prepared by Campari, as well as a cigar bar.

The evening ended with French pop-soul band Kimberose bringing the entire audience to its feet with songs Back on My FeetEscape and Sober.
