430 tsA graduate in English Literature and former NIFT student, Valay Gada curated his first ever solo exhibition at The Loft at Lower Parel, Mumbai. Aptly titled ‘Anthills of the Urban Savannah’, the exhibition features sculptures which clearly reflect Valay Gada’s incessant belief in the endless erosion of nature and its resources because of industrialisation and urbanisation.

Dividing the exhibition into different categories, Valay took the visitors through a timeless journey, wherein they could get a first-hand experience of how science and biotechnology technology have together inflated the urban development to an unprecedented extent, yet have simultaneously deployed the urban landscapes of anything and everything that nature has to offer.

Hosted by Nisha Jamwal, the exhibition left the onlookers on a mind-blown level, all thanks to the excellent personification of Valay’s imagination on his artworks.

A couple of high-profile elites, socialites and Bollywood celebrities could be spotted on the exhibition. Enjoying the experience of six course champagne lunch soiree and Valay’s commendable artworks were Vidya Malawade, Manasi Scott, Tanisha Mukherjee, designer Kresha Bajaj, Lavinia Hansraj, jeweller Vinisha Tulsiani, Kiran Datwani, socialites Sherry Rane, Sheeba Akashdeep and Kadambari Lakhani amongst others.
