Cantonese Cuisine Aficionados, Dim Sum devotees and fine http://varunkaushik.com/userfiles/nightOut/http://varunkaushik.com/userfiles/nightOut/dining/dining/http://varunkaushik.com/userfiles/nightOut/dining/dining fans should rejoice now that the internationally acclaimed Royal China with outposts in London, Singapore, China and of course Dubai, has finally made its debut in New Delhi.

Owned by Aashita Relan the restaurant has an elegant décor, contrasting rich golden hues with striking red and black features. Lacquered murals with an ornate Chinese illustration with dimly lit http://varunkaushik.com/userfiles/nightOut/http://varunkaushik.com/userfiles/nightOut/dining/dining/http://varunkaushik.com/userfiles/nightOut/dining/dining area into separate sections create a focal point.

The menu is nearly 15 pages long with two pages of chicken, a far shorter list of red meats, plenty of choices for seafood and ambitious amounts of rice and noodles but ordering a meal is actually rather simple. Be it veg lettuce wrap, dim sums, prawns cheung fun, crispy aromatic duck, seafood dumpling ginger and chilli oil, or vegetable puf, all starters were lip-smackingly good using the very best ingredients, that will leave you craving for more. Not to miss the house special cocktail which their manager suggested turned up exactly as we wished.

We started our main course with prawns szechuan style, pan fried whole fish yellow bean, chicken black bean and mapo tofu and greens with black mushroom in veg. The smallish prawns were cooked to perfection till they retained their inherent crunchiness and the sauce was delicious. Pan fried whole fish yellow bean was another great dish, just enough sauce and tender meat that you could cut with your chopsticks. All the serving dishes are incredibly attractive, with classy golden stand kept unobtrusively on the table.

A must try, mud cake with ice cream and chilled mango pudding.

One of the finest restaurants in the Capitol. A city which has a big number of Chinese lovers, this one is a must though a tad expensive. Once you touch this restaurant you won’t enjoy anything anywhere else I’m sure of this.
