Tell us something about your journey in the showbiz?
Well, I am from Delhi…..born and brought up in the lanes of this warm city. I completed my majors in Office Management from College of Vocational Studies in Delhi itself. Just like every normal guy I was infected by name, fame and money. So while studying I gradually tried carving out my ambitions in reality. When I was 19, I started DJing and with in a year I was able to afford my portfolio. My parents were reluctant to see their son turning into a model. But I somehow persuaded them and within the three days of my portfolio in the mailbox of all most every modeling and advertisement agency, I hit it off with camera for a nation wide campaign. So within a day I turned from an unknown to an acquainted face. Though it was just the beginning of the journey and gradually I started getting calls for diverse assignments and meanwhile I walked at WIFW 2008. Later I shifted my base to Bombay and jumped in the emerging Indian television industry which I am a very much part of presently.

So how has been your experience in the industry which demands a lot of patience and struggle?
Yes, its very much true. This industry is infectious and addictive in its own ways. Trends change and relations fluctuate but you need to be determined and confident of yourself. Be positive and you will get the thing you want. Though it is cut throat competitive and demands a hell hard work out of you but at the end of the day competition is everywhere these days whether it’s modeling or a job of a clerk.

Models see the fashion very closely. After all they are the one who dishes it out on the ramps. So as a model what’s fashion for you? How you like to dress up?
Well, fashion for me is all about individualism. It’s a reflection of one’s moods and tastes. Though cliché, but yes definitely fashion is comfort for me. I can’t mess up with my comfort zone to merely look someone else. I like to get dressed up in my pair of old jeans and casual t shirts.

How do you keep yourself fit? What’s your fitness mantra?
I used to gym a lot but these days I just prefer to run and engage in yoga sessions to keep myself fit and active.

What is Yash Gera found doing in his free time?
As I told you, I have a special attachment with music and acting. So in my leisure time you will find me playing with music.

What is the most touching moment of your life?
It was when I walked on the ramp for the very first time.

How do you want your perfect date to be?
That’s quite intruding (smiles)…..Ummmm….there should be some suspense and mystery when it comes to my kinda perfect date. I love the things happening subtly.
