In the current gloomy state of affairs where every other national economy is falling like ninepins, women feel an urge to paint their lips, or nails in the most seductive manner to attract the attention of men, to be specific, successful men with big tummies and bigger deeper pockets.

A new research paper called, Boosting Beauty in an Economic Decline: ‘Mating, Spending and Lipstick Effect’ states that because there are fewer men with access to resources in recessionary periods, women’s desire for resource access in a mate increased in response to recession cues.
