Kiehl’s since 1851, India, pledges to support sustainable environmental initiatives this Earth Day, 22nd April 2011, joining forces with the rest of the world to spread the awareness about environmental sustainability.

Proudly celebrating April 2011 as Earth Month and 22nd April, 2011 as Earth Day, Kiehl’s is reaching out to its customers throughout April to visit their flagship Kiehl’s boutique at Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi and return their Kiehl’s empties. By doing so, anyone can participate in Kiehl’s global “Recycle & be Rewarded” program, a unique loyalty program, that rewards customers with complimentary Kiehl’s products for being environmentally responsible.

In view of Earth Day 2011, Kiehl’s & Nanhi Chhaan, an organization dedicated to girl care and environmental concern, have joined hands to initiate a green project in month of April.

Aligned with the company’s historical commitment to the environment and inspired by rapidly increasing customer demand over the years, Kiehl’s India, following the ethos of the brand pledges to minimize the amount of packaging use and maximize the use of Post-Consumer Recycled material, upcycle many of the returned bottles into new, functional items for future in-store use and continue supporting Recyle and be Rewarded program.

About Kiehl’s eco-friendly initiative, Anurag Tyagi, Brand Manager, Kiehl’s Since 1851, India, says, “At Kiehl’s, we serve fine quality skincare products to our customers that not only contain high concentrations of rare and rich natural ingredients with minimal environmental impact, but are also packaged, as far as possible, in post- consumer recycled packaging. Upon return from our customers in the form of Kiehl’s empties, we further recycle and up-cycle the iconic Kiehl’s bottles”
