Heralding into another world first the ethical cosmetics retailer has launched a new Eau de Parfum featuring alcohol made from organic sugar cane sourced from the foothills of the Andes, through the unique community Trade fair programme.

The fragrance and the story behind it perfectly encapsulate the exuberance of love, happiness, fulfillment and goodness, ‘Love Etc’ Eau de Parfum features an alcohol base that is fairly traded and organically sourced. If you love being enveloped in a captivating fragrance that inspires you with its distinct warmth, it is sensual, magnetic and radiant.

 As the creator of ‘Love Etc’ the ‘nose’ Dominique Ropion says this new fragrance is “An innovative creamy addiction born from the sensuous union of luminous Jasmine with indulgent notes of Vanilla and Sandalwood. This is a perfume that creates magnetism and spontaneity; it is sensual, radiant and irresistible”.

The Body Shop has welcomed the organic sugar cane farmers of Cotopaxi, Ecuador, who have become a part of the Community Trade programme. These farmers have formed a co-op called “CADO” or the “Consorcio Agroartesanal Dulce Organico”, a rural co-operative of five associations with over 150 member families (benefiting approximately 750 people), who grow the sugar cane organically to promote environmental sustainability and biodiversity.

Socio cultural expert Jolanta Bak believes with its wonderful fragrance notes, this Eau de Parfum taps into the joie de vivre exuded particularly by 20–30-year-old women and the current generation are women “who believe in carpe diem, that in life you need to seize opportunities, and take advantage of ‘the surf on the wave’ and make the best you can out of life”.
