Caroline Herrera will debut her Spring/Summer 2018 collection in the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden at New York City’s MoMA, which is staging its first fashion exhibition in 73 years this autumn.
On Monday, September 11, the first runway show ever to take place at the cultural institution, although the exact location of where that collection will be shown within the museum given that the dead of winter does not make for comfortable sculpture-garden viewing.
Whilst Opening October 1,”Items: Is Fashion Modern?”, a collection of 111 iconic pieces of clothing and accessories from 20th and 21st centuries, will explore the relationship between fashion and everything from politics and technology to identity and economics.

Thanks to their superlative quality and enchanting creativity of these miniature paintings, Edouard Bovet managed to distinguish his burgeoning House in China, a country hitherto closed to external trade, where his early clientele notably included the Emperor. One of the Emperor’s original BOVET timepieces sits enthroned in the central room of the Forbidden City to this day.
The polished lacquer formula and technique now employed by BOVET 1822 was developed by one of its exclusive artisans and derives from the Maison’s famed historic methods of the various miniature painting techniques still practiced today, Chinese lacquer enables the most precise artistic definition, and it is also more shock-resistant than enamel.
In their eager quest for perfection, BOVET artisans have developed new techniques in polished lacquer. To achieve a metallic effect in select designs, artisans incorporate gold leaf details, while in other cases, surfaces are adorned with gold or silver paillons (spangles).
For the second year running, the Transatlantic Fashion Week will bring together some of the most reputable names within the fashion industry to host seven days of runway shows, inspiring talks, glamorous dinners and exclusive unveilings all on Queen Mary 2, arriving in to New York on the 7th September the very same day as New York Fashion Week 2017 begins.
British designer Julien Macdonald OBE will be featured on this voyage along with revered fashion historian Colin McDowell MBE, fashion consultant Gail Sackloff OBE and Karl Dunkley, the founder and CEO of Royal Warrant holder Grosvenor Shirts, Jermyn Street, will reveal the craftsmanship behind a classic tailored shirt.
Guests on board will attend exclusive first look runway shows from the one of the world’s most revered fashion colleges, Parsons School of Design graduates Min Kyung Kim, Panisa Busayanontg, Jeehyun Cho, Jihyun Myung, Alexa Chia Wan Yu and Yuner Shao.

The week unofficially begins on Sept.6 when Tom Ford returns to show with an evening show. Narciso Rodriguez, Pamella Roland, and VFILES are among those presenting their collections earlier that day.
The season takes place from Sept. 7-13, with many notable moments on the schedule. It features the second outing of Raf Simons for Calvin Klein on the evening of Sept. 7. CFDA Member Jeremy Scott celebrates his brand’s 20-year anniversary the evening of Sept. 8. Fenty by Rihanna concludes a day of shows on Sept. 10, while Shayne Oliver presents his first collection for Helmut Lang on Sept. 11. On Sept. 12, Ralph Lauren is taking his guests to Bedford, NY to show his collection in his garage of rare – and legendary – automobiles, which he will follow with a private dinner.
Whilst Tommy Hilfiger will show in London, as Thom Browne, Altuzarra and Lacoste get to Paris, joined by ProenzaSchouler, Rodarte and Monique Lhuillier, who have also moved their shows there.
Versus Versace takes an innovative approach for Fall17. Photographed by Ben Toms,Artistic director Donatella Versace has tapped underground rap artist from Canada Tommy Genesis; American artist and transgender activist Hunter Schafer; American-born English model Lily McMenamy; Tokyo-born musician and model Rina Sawayama; hip-hop artist and producer from Ireland Rejjie Snow; singer-songwriter from South London Cosmo Pyke, also known for his skating skills and graffiti artistry; London-born artist and model Wilson Oryema, and New York actor Judah Lang, who is venturing into freestyle rap.
“I really admire the young creatives in the new Versus campaign. I call them the Sub-Versus Generation, a community of subcultures taking a stand for their beliefs and for their individuality,” says Donatella.
