Lately Versace stores is being using short codes amongst them to address black customers.

A former Versace employee suing the luxury retailer for alleged racial discrimination, claims the Italian fashion house uses a code to alert staff and security when a black customer is in the store.

Apparently, when the new employee was told about the code – known as a “D410”, incidentally the label’s code for a black shirt – he allegedly told his manager that he was African-American. After the revelation, the man claims to have been refused rest breaks and was then fired two weeks later. In the suit, he says he was told he lost his job because he hadn’t “lived the luxury life.

The de Young Museum in San Francisco, is drawing big crowds for its next big fashion extravaganza on hijabs, the head scarves worn by many Muslim women. The museum’s new director, Max Hollein, has scheduled “The Fashion of Islam,” for the fall of 2018.

One part of the show will look at interpretations of hijabs by Islamic and European designers, from Iman Aldebe and Hussein Chalayan to Dolce & Gabbana. Another will display Islamic streetwear and sportswear, addressing the burkini ban controversies that have plagued the beaches of France. Another section is expected to be more historical and show examples of traditional Muslim dress.

Dolce & Gabbana has opened its new women’s boutique in Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré, Paris.

Spread over two floors, the new women’s store is a showcase of the Baroque period, characterised by its distinctive embellishments, sensual lines and vibrant colours. It offers a complete suite of women’s apparel and accessories collections, while the lower floor is dedicated to bags and accessories and the top floor houses the ready-to-wear collections as well as footwear.

The Facebook founder spent 100 hours putting together the virtual assistant – named after the artificial intelligence system in “Iron Man” — which understands spoken commands as well as text messages, he wrote in a 3,000-word Facebook post Monday.

Among Jarvis’s skills: Adjusting the home thermostat, turning on lights and operating the toaster. The virtual assistant texts Zuckerberg images of visitors who stop by during the day, and opens the front door for those it recognizes. It can also tell when Zuckerberg’s 1-year-old daughter, Max, wakes up “so it can start playing music or a Mandarin lesson,” he wrote.

Paris opens a fragrance museum. A town house in the chic eighth arrondissement in Paris, just around the corner from the Elysée Palace, will house Le Grand Musée du Parfum, which will explore the history of perfumery and initiates visitors to the complex and fascinating world of scents.

Le Grand Musée du Parfum is divided in three parts: In one of them, visitors can learn about the history of perfume, in another they get insight into the profession of a perfume designer and, finally, they can explore some 70 different fragrances. The exhibition is varied without being too overloaded.
