After delivering its usual spectacular racing between April 13 and 19, the 29th Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta ended in triumph for Janley which took home the coveted Panerai watch as overall winner. The 1948 Bermudan sloop prevailed over 40 of the world’s most beautiful vintage yachts to win the prestige prize sponsored by Florentine luxury sports watchmaker Officine Panerai. Her name has now been added to the roll call of honour of the 2016 Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge, the international vintage and classic sailing circuit making its 12th outing this year.

Janley is a Pacific Cruising Class, a 14-metre Bermudan sloop built from mahogany and oak in 1948 by Kettenburg Marine in San Diego, California. She competed extensively on the US West Coast and also took part in high profile events such as the Transpac and the Lipton Cup. Janley was acquired by new owners in 2014 and underwent extensive renovations at the local Woodstock Boatbuilders yard.

The 2016 Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta fleet was divided into five main classes (Vintage, Classic, Traditional, Classic GRP, and Spirit of Tradition) and further subcategories. In all, four races of between 11 and 20 nautical miles were competed: the Old Road, the Butterfly, the Kenny Coombs Memorial Cannon Race and the Windward Race. Seven of the participating boats took first in their class in all four races they competed in (The Blue Peter, Mary Rose,Janley, Argo, Heron, Dragonera, Wild Horses).

The 2016 Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge continues between June 1 and 5 with Les Voiles d’Antibes on the Cote d’Azur, which is also the first round on the Mediterranean Circuit.

As part of its mission to nurture and support creativity, the latest next gen designer application process of Swarovski Collective, has started and will go on until May 20. Following her first collaboration with Alexander McQueen and Isabella Blow, Nadja Swarovski developed a program to make Swarovski crystal available not only to established couturiers but also to emerging fashion talents.

The Swarovski Collective program offers sponsorship to designers working at the cutting edge of fashion in New York, London, and Paris. While this year’s winner will work with Swarovski for the spring and fall 2017 seasons, along with campaigns, events, and product collaborations.

More than 150 designers have benefited from the program and the roll call reads like a who’s who list of some of the most exciting names to have emerged over the past decade and a half, including powerhouse designers like Alexander Wang, Christopher Kane, Mary Katrantzou and Erdem.

The annual fashion extravaganza attempts inclusion of the differently-abled into the world of fashion. The exhibit will be held on April 30 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, New Delhi.

Ten coveted FDCI designers including Abraham & Thakore, Anju Modi, Gaurav Jai Gupta, JJ Valaya, Payal Jain, Rahul Mishra, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Rina Dhaka, Rohit Bal and Samant Chauhan will create ensembles in Khadi and present them in a pure, simple and versatile form for the differently abled and fulfill their dreams of walking the ramp with professional models.tammna

430Located in a bespoke structure in Kojimachi, the neighbourhood in Tokyo, where in 1978 Louis Vuitton opened its first store in Japan and curated by Olivier Saillard, the exhibition retraces Louis Vuitton’s great journey from 1854 to today, through depictions of the Maison’s founding members and those who create the Louis Vuitton of tomorrow. The exhibition is open to public from April 23rd 2016 until June 19th 2016.

Though they’ve been producing a men’s line for years, the French fashion house Balenciaga is finally putting their men’s collection on the runway. Replacing the brand’s traditional presentation format, the show will take place on June 22, during Paris Fashion Week.

“The show will debut the masculine vision of Balenciaga’s new artistic director Demna Gvasalia,” said the company in a statement.

The event will also mark Balenciaga’s first menswear collection under the helm of new creative director, Demna Gvasalia. Gvasalia, who is also founder and designer of Vetements.. He debuted his first Balenciaga womenswear collection last month.

The announcement comes at a time when brands are canceling their men’s shows in favor of gender inclusion. Gvasalia himself announced that Vetements would be combining their men’s and women’s shows in favor of a single runway presentation.

Jimmy Choo introduces limited edition shoe trunk to celebrate brands 20th anniversary and to coincide with the launch of Memento – a capsule collection of glamorous shoes and bags which pays homage to their red carpet legacy.

From the metal studs which frame the trunk to the foiled Jimmy Choo logo, the trunk has been fitted with studded leather handles and discreet wheels. Steel locks keep the trunk and its contents securely in place, highlighting that the shoes and bags held within are to be truly treasured.
