This is Diesel’s new year’s resolutionas it launches its SS’15 campaign. It’s rising above, it’s tolerance, inclusiveness, LOVE in the largest most unconditional sense possible.

Conceived by creative director Nicola Formichetti and styled by Anna Trevelyan, the campaign has its provocative and optimistic implications—urging to live life in the moment and to enjoy the ride.

As Nicola says, “There are so many crazy things happening now that you don’t see people just having fun any more. The challenge was to work with an avant-garde photographer, Nick Knight, and get him to do something he’s rarely done – which is to shoot people smiling. It feels spontaneous, like they are selfies and he’s just the one snapping the photo.

The ads,  are a series of dreamy, slightly washed out images that feature model Amalie Schmidt wearing some sweet, girly dresses in an open meadow, with a horse as her co-star which is eerily similar to the Juergen Teller-lensed campaign for Marc Jacobs’s Daisy Eau so Fresh fragrance. Well, your guess is as good as mine!!

Yves Saint Laurent + Halston: Fashioning the ’70s exhibition celebrates the two designers who defined the sexy and glamorous fashions of the 1970s. This is the first exhibition to juxtapose their work and analyze the way they dealt with similar themes and aesthetics during the height of their careers. Both designers are equally represented by the approximately 80 ensembles and 20 accessories that are arranged thematically in an environment designed to evoke the style of this singular, dynamic era in history.

Drawn exclusively from the holdings of The Museum at FIT, the exhibition offers a unique perspective on two of the best-known fashion designers in modern history. The museum’s collections hold the Halston archives—the most comprehensive records of his work in the world—as well as a vast array of significant Yves Saint Laurent pieces donated by important clients, fashion editors, friends, and colleagues of Saint Laurent. These include Lauren Bacall, Marina Schiano, Aimée de Heeren, Mary Russell, and Tina Chow. It is worth noting that the first major retrospective exhibition on Halston was organized at the museum in 1991 by the late curator Richard Martin.

Yves Saint Laurent + Halston: Fashioning the 70s was organized by Patricia Mears, deputy director of MFIT, and Emma McClendon, assistant curator of MFIT, with Fred Dennis, senior curator of MFIT.

NEW YORK January 23, 2015 – Michael Kors is pleased will be opening its largest Japanese flagship store this fall, on Chuo Street in Tokyo’s renowned Ginza district.

The store, which measures approximately 7,800 square feet, will reflect the new design concept unveiled last year at the Jing’An Kerry Centre in Shanghai, including a shimmering exterior facade inspired by Michael Kors’ signature use of metallics and texture. The facade, designed by Michael Kors’ in-house design team, consists of luminous screens made of unique, light-reflective facets set within a grid of internally lit recesses. The effect is elegant and kinetic, evoking the light-catching allure of a sequined gown. A large-scale video screen covers the balance of the second- and third-story facade, while the ground floor features large storefront windows framed in Bianco Dolomiti marble.

The interior of the store will reflect the signature jet set glamour of the Michael Kors brand, with polished stainless steel fixtures, white marble flooring, Macassar wood and zebra-skin accents used to create a luxurious and inviting atmosphere.
